What are Spirit Guides & How to Work with Them.

We are all blessed with spirit guides who surround us and support us. We usually have around four sometimes more. There main spirit guide is with us from birth. The rest of the guides tend to join us throughout our life. Their assistance can be both practical and spiritual in nature.

Here are some tips for getting to know your guides and working with them:

Know What your Guides Can Help You With

Most of us forget who we were before we reincarnate and where we’ve come from and what our reason is for being here. Spirit guides know that it is challenging to be incarnated here on earth and keep a connection to your higher self and your soul’s purpose.

The role of your guides is to gently but consistently guide you by intuitive nudges to stay on track with your soul’s purpose. If something is in your purpose to accomplish, you will find the support from your spirit guides they will hook you up with resources, people, and money, books to help you reach your goals, sometimes they offer insight and comfort when you feel lost.

Your spirit guides will only help you to accomplish and achieve things that honour the purpose that YOU set for yourself before you incarnated.

I know that it is probably not in my soul’s purpose to win the lottery. I don’t have a project to accomplish in this life time that requires that kind of money. Instead, I know that I can benefit from the growth that I will experience in utilizing my talents to tap into abundance. So if I asked my spirit guides to help me win the lottery, I’m pretty certain they wouldn’t oblige.

How to Enlist the Help of Your Guides

You don’t need to have really well developed psychic abilities to begin working with your spirit guides. You may not be able to perceive them at all times but your guides can certainly perceive you. You only need to set an intention and they will pick up on it. Or you can speak to them out loud and they will hear you. (Which I often do)

One way of setting your guides to work is to request their help with specific goals.

You can get into the habit of doing this by writing down your goals for the coming week and month and I ask your guides for help in achieving each of them.

For example:

I would like X amount of money each month to pay my rent.

I would like to work with X number of clients next month

I’d like to spend X more hours per week of quality time with my friends and family.

I’d like more fun and laughter in my life.

Our guides will not intervene until you ask them to because to do so would violate your free will. This is why consciously asking for their help is powerful.

Your spirit guides work to help you manifest your desires into the physical, often in unexpected ways! I recently realized that I have a particular guide who hooks me up with the clients who could benefit from a session with me.

Be open minded and the Universe will send you the resources you need in ingenious and creative ways. If you expect to receive help through one particular channel, you may miss or discard the help that shows up in other ways.

Back to the above list, so you could receive a gift of money to help with bills or you might get invited to a party or meet a new friend who is fun and makes you laugh. You may come across a book, like I it did when I wanted some help writing this workshop. There are so many possibilities so be open to them all by seeing the opportunity in every experience that comes your way.

They do however love receiving gratitude for their work, so be sure to thank them.

Imbloc – February 2nd

0d614b25bc0df5898f9fd25a963c3133

Imbloc also known as Candlemass.

This is one of the four fire festivals it celebrates the first signs of spring, this is the seasonal change where the first signs of spring and the return of the sun are noted, the first sprouting of leaves and the sprouting of the Crocus flowers. It is the day that we celebrate the passing of winter and make way for spring and the day we honour the rebirth of the Sun.

It is also a day of celebrating the Celtic Goddess Brigid, Brigid is the Goddess of Poetry, Healing, and Midwifery. She is a triple Goddess, so we honour her in all her aspects.

At this time of year, Wiccans will light multiple candles, white for Brigid, yellow or red for the God this is to remind us of the passing of winter and the entrance into spring, the time of the Sun.

It is also a festival of light and of fertility, once marked in Europe with huge blazes, torches and fire in every form. Fire here represents our own illumination and inspiration as much as light and warmth.

Imbolc is also known as Feast of Torches, Waxing Light, Brighid’s Day, and probably by many other names.

It is traditional upon Imbolc, at sunset or just after ritual, to light every lamp in the house or turn on every light if only for a few moments. Or, light candles in each room in honour of the Sun’s rebirth.

Ritual for Imbolc.

Incense: Rosemary, Frankincense, Myrrh, Cinnamon
Decorations: Corn Dolly, Besom, Spring Flowers
Colours: White, Orange, Red
Stones: Garnet, Ruby, Bloodstone, Onyx, Amethyst
Supplies: white flowers, an orange candle anointed with cinnamon, frankincense or rosemary oil (unlit), red candle to represent the elements, and your ritual supplies.

Arrange your altar, light the candles and cast your Circle.
Invoke the Goddess and God you can say such words like the following.

This is the time of the feast of torches, when every lamp blazes and shines to welcome the rebirth of the God. I celebrate the Goddess. I celebrate the God.

Light the orange taper from the red candle on the altar. Slowly walk the circle clockwise, bearing the candle before you.

Say these or similar words:
All the land is wrapped in winter, the air is chilled and frost envelopes the earth.
Lord of the Sun the horned one of animals and wild places unseen, you have been reborn of the gracious mother goddess of all fertility, Hail great god, Hail and welcome.

Stop before the altar, holding the candle and gaze at its flame then visualize your life filled with renewed energy and strength.

If you feel the need to look into the future, now is a good time. Spell work or magic may follow. Then celebrate with a simple feast, when your finished remember to thank the Goddess and God and then close your circle.

Past lives, how many have you had ?

past life9

For a lot of us, past lives are many lessons that have been learned. We may have carried over fears or emotions from previous lives that have an impact on our lives today. Some people believe that experiences or feelings they have in this lifetime can be traced to an experience in a past incarnation. If you are afraid of heights for example, it could be because in a past life, you died after a traumatic fall. I have always insisted that I would be cremated never buried; I know this goes back to one of my past lives. You know when you meet a person for the first time and they seem familiar, it may be because you’ve known them in a past life. There is a popular theory that souls tend to reunite from one lifetime to another, so someone you loved in a past life may appear in the form of someone you love in this lifetime.

If you think that you may have had a past life, or lives, then actively trying to discover what information you can about those lives can help open doors to self discovery in your current life. There are several different methods you can use to take a look into your past lives.

Past Life Regression, typically done by someone with experience, a past life regression is one in which the Seeker is guided through a hypnotic state by another person. During a past life regression session, it’s not uncommon for the Seeker to feel that they are in another location, or of the opposite sex, or even speak in another language or with an accent.

Meditation, a past life meditation is an exercise you can do on your own or in a group, it may take some practice. You can achieve this by allowing your mind to wander back through your current lifetime, to earlier memories, and then telling your mind to go back to the lifetime before. Although this doesn’t always work for everyone, you may find yourself replaying memories from what seems to be another lifetime. Shamanic meditations work well within a group practice.

Dream Analysis, some people believe they can learn about their past lives from dreams. Are there recurring events or places that show up in your dreams? Perhaps you’ve never been to Rome in this lifetime, but you continually dream of wandering through the city.  Maybe you could try keeping a dream diary.

Once you’ve learned about what you suspect may be a past life, it can be fun as well as enlightening to do some historical research. Although this may not confirm the existence of a past life although I have know people personally where they have. What it can do is help rule out things that might be just wishful thinking or just your imagination. By confirming timelines and history, you can help narrow it down a bit.

I’m personally doing the research on my own past lives I have had nine and I’m now in my tenth.  The one that I feel the need to find out about is my seventh this is when I was a witch. I now live in the same area and do the same type of work which would have been considered witchcraft in those days. I am the same age now as I was when died, I was hung. I also work in the same street.  I need to know what my name was as I feel I was buried in the local church. I will be writing a book on all my past lives, I have had a few interesting ones that I know of already. I will share some of the information with you in a few weeks time.

If this is something of interest to you I do run Shamanic Meditations every now and again. I also run two circles and it’s during these  we also gather information about our past lives.

You can also have a past life reading by email using past life cards, info and prices are on my website.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Your Tarot card is The Emperor, the guy who will always be there when you need him. This card represents your sign’s loyalty and ability to stick by your friends through thick and thin. Like the royal figure on your card, you use your authority and analytical powers to help others and to achieve your goals.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Your card, The Hierophant, represents learning from knowledgeable teachers who can help you search for higher truths by exploring tried and true traditions. Sifting through the superficial, these learned souls can lead you to the heart of matters where profound insights reveal important life lessons.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Every Gemini is blessed with a dual nature represented by your Tarot card, The Lovers. Turning points for you often involve making a moral choice between taking the high or low road. This card encourages you to weigh your options carefully and follow the path dictated by your personal integrity.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

You stand proud and strong as you guide The Chariot on your card, steering a steady course and rising above life’s conflicts. Even though Cancers seek security, you also love the freedom of the open road where you can use your highly-developed intuition to win the race.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

The Strength card represents your physical strength — like that of the mighty Lion on your card — as well as your emotional, mental and spiritual prowess. Like the Lion, you are blessed with plenty of courage, which helps you overcome problems and obstacles.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

Like The Hermit, you often need to slow down and go within to focus on your purpose in life. The image on this card — an old man — represents a person who is weary of the outer world. When he retreats to explore the mysteries of his inner life, he becomes open and innocent like a child.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

Justice holds the scales, asking you to weigh your desires against your needs. In order to reach a fair outcome, you must put your feelings and emotions aside. When you reach the light at the end of the tunnel of indecision, you will be able to serve the greater good.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

Like your Tarot card, Death, you welcome transformation. You often shed your skin like a snake, seeking to release your spirit and be reborn. Because you are able to detach yourself from the ties that bind others, it’s easy for you to change your identity, making you the mysterious person everyone wants to figure out.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

Like your card, Temperance, you are a gifted mediator, able to find common ground by balancing out judgments with genuine understanding and awareness. Like a steadily-meandering stream, you work your way through whatever difficulties get in the way.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

The Devil card encourages you to face your shadow-self in order to gather the knowledge necessary for spiritual transformation. It advises you to reflect on any negativity that has made you doubt yourself, swap it for confidence and hold fast to your highest vision of who you are.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

Your card, The Star, focuses on your optimism. When you wish on the stars, you really believe you can achieve your heart’s desires. Your job in this world is to convince others they can too, thereby helping to lead them home in a spiritual sense.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)

Like your Tarot card, The Moon, you are a creature of ever-changing moods. You do best when you attune to nature’s cycles and use them to refresh your intuitive powers. The Moon rules emotions, which are your strong suit, especially when you use your compassionate nature to help others.
