Crystals & Lithomancy

lithomancy1

Most of us love crystals we like to wear them as jewellery or have them on display at home but they can also be used for meditation, manifestation, healing, psychic development and readings.

With loads of different types of crystals to choose from it can get a bit confusing on where to start so here are a few that might help if you are a beginner.

Tigers Eye is used for grounding and protection, both of which are really important when you start opening up your psychic abilities.

When it comes to actually opening up, Amethyst is a really good crystal to use.  In ancient cultures, only the Priestesses, Priests or Kings had access to the mystery of this stone and it is said to effectively plug us in to the cosmos itself, opening us and deepening our intuition and psychic ability.

Flourite is believed to take us even further along that journey but it needs be used with a lot of respect and reverence as it can open us up really quickly this a powerful stone and it should be used with great care.

Rose Quartz is linked with the heart chakra and is the stone of unconditional love,
very good especially if you are thinking of working as a psychic reader as it will also help you put aside your own judgements and do your readings from a pure heart.

Citrine is a lovely light coloured stone that can help us feel optimistic and deeply
connect with a strong sense of our own abilities and self worth, so it’s great for boosting confidence along the way.

Clear Quartz crystals these crystals can absorb negative energy and they can also be bought in a wand shape for directing energy also look out for ones that are still in their natural form with a point, rather than those that are polished into spherical or other shapes.

Before you use your crystals, it’s important to cleanse them.  To do this, simply hold the stone under running water, as the water runs over the stone, visualise it being cleansed.

So now that your crystal is cleansed its ready for action, so now need to charge it, this means “instructing” the stone to do what you require of it, and you especially need to do this part if you are working with clear quartz or healing stones that have a particular healing property they need to be reminded of what it is that they will be doing, and it is very handy to do this if you will be giving it to a loved one, you have to tell it exactly what you want.

So find a comfortable and quiet place, so that you can connect with the energies within the crystal, hold the crystal and breathe slowly and deeply, feeling the crystal within your hand and focus upon how you want it to help you. In the beginning you may feel a little silly doing this but as you progress, you will become more and more used to it and may also find yourself meditating whilst charging them.

Keep them in a safe place where they can’t be handled by others, and ask that no one touch them or put them in a small pouch or box out of sight if you don’t feel comfortable explaining what you are doing.

Once you feel comfortable and have collected a few could give Lithomancy at try, it’s the ancient art of casting stones, and this is a very basic method it will get you started and working with your crystals on a psychic level.

This is a simple yes or no method the stones are as decided before the cast. For example, a black and white stone can be selected and the black one means “no” and the white one “yes” Then cast the stones having decided that, say, the one that lands closest to you is the answer, other variations that you might use is a silver one meaning “maybe”. Or use four stones – a white, black, silver, and brown, and have the silver one mean “maybe yes” and the brown one “maybe no”. A popular reading is to use five stones, with one being the Personal Stone. Then the stone that lands closest to the personal stone indicates the answer.

Have fun, connect with your crystals and see which ones work for you, and if you’re like me over time you will end have a whole collection to work with and admire.

May – Flower Moon

may flower moon - Copy

On May 10th we have the full moon in Scorpio.

The flower moon in Scorpio invites us to embrace love, intelligence and creativity, it leads us to try and experience new things, as well as heal and release old emotions. Don’t not forget that Scorpio has a sting in its tail, so take each new step slowly and calmly.

It is the fifth full moon of the year, the name of the month comes from Maia, the roman goddess of fertility, chastity, wealth and health. May is the month of flowers and berries, the time to fill our home with flowers.

The moon of May is powerful for performing all kinds of magic to develop and strengthen your spiritual side as well as a time of transformation and understanding your personal power by knowing that you are not alone, and that you have a team of spirit guides and angels that are on your side to help you move through life.

Many astrologers and ancient cultures have always believed that the Scorpio full moon is one of the most powerful for reaching out to ancient ancestors and guardian spirits. It is also believed to be one of the best full moon’s for rituals and manifestation work and psychic readings.

With so much magic energy circling in the first part of May, it is going to be impossible not to feel the effects of this full moon.

When the moon is in the water signs like Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces it is a good time for magic involving the element water, for increasing our intuition and to bring about changes.

When the moon is in Scorpio, it is also good for revealing secrets using magic, spells and rituals, related to passion, love and intense emotions, It is the best night to make love potions and spells, so during this moon why not take full advantage of her power 🙂

You can use it to combat apathy or depression if you have been feeling a little off balance lately.

It is the moon of knowledge, the best moon to conjure spirits that reveal the past and the future of things. The full moon nourishes us with energy in every aspect of our life, but not everything is love or light remember that the moon also has its dark side that assumes an important role in balancing our emotions and different facets, the moon in Scorpio produces uncomfortable situations where jealousy, resentment, revenge, violence, desires and passions are intermingled.

Rituals & Magic

This lunar phase is a good time to carry out regressions, have psychic / future readings and strengthen clairvoyance.

On this moon you can also invoke water nymphs and inhabitants of the deep sea.

Use blue shades green candles for rituals, altars should face west if possible.

Crystals: Moonstone, Emerald, Amber, Jade and Pearls.

Moon flowers: Lilies & Roses

Colours: Yellow, Blue and all shades of Green.

Animal, the Bull and the Eagle.

Incense, Angelica, Cinnamon and Star anise

Maia, goddess of prosperity and health with her blessing you receive calm to make good decisions. Draw the magic circle, this time we can do this either in a room or in an open space. Burn some cinnamon sticks or incense, fill a small cauldron with a blend of essential oils that have floral scents, your choice, flower petals of different colours, sugar, cinnamon and a piece of peridot or agate, while mixing recite the following.

“We wake Nature up and in this ritual we invoke its spirits, make me tolerant, make me patient, make me wise and accompany me in every choice and every step with calm and wisdom.”

Remove the crystal from the mixture and bury it as an offering to the spirits. You can use the mixture try adding it to your bath.

Love Spell

During May full moon we can make this simple but effective love spell place in your Altar some flowers and roses, symbolizing the nature and the power of spring. In a circle made with rose petals place a rose quartz, burn a jasmine incense stick and light a strawberry or other scented candle, write in a paper or parchment your full name and that of your loved one, write your love one’s initials on a rose petal and your initials on another rose petal.

Place both petals and the parchment inside of an envelope with the crystal, close it and anoint it with a few drops of essential oil roses or jasmine oil at each end, leave it on the altar until midnight, then light a new red candle and burn it. The only thing left will be the rose quartz and ashes, which you will bury in a garden the following morning.

If you have been thinking about having a reading, to see where your life is heading this would be a good week to book one and start to make some positive changes.

Mercury Retrograde – How Will It Affect You?

Mercury-Retrograde

April 9th 2017  – May 3rd 2017 in Aries, then Taurus

Mercury is the ruling planet of all communications, speech, verbal, written, typed and texted.

Including business partnerships, creative projects, friendships, romance, it’s pretty much everything that revolves around communication.

It means things can go awry more than usual, and there are lessons to be learned during these phases.

Astrologers recommend easing off on certain aspects in our life, like starting new projects, signing contracts, completing important tasks.

Also if you’re planning on travelling then add extra time for delays or mishaps.

In generally, try to make space for heightened miscommunications among the people you interact with on a daily basis. Take time to centre yourself, be calm, and reflect.

When Mercury goes ‘retrograde’ or reverses its forward movement around the Sun, we feel it in the form of delays, hassles, misunderstandings.

Many of us are sighing, not again! Now I won’t get anything done!” While there will no doubt be delays and misgivings until Mercury turns direct, there is another side of this period that you may come to appreciate.

Mercury Retrograde is also a cosmic start over, If you want to try again at a relationship, a project, or business  idea, then you get a second chance with Mercury, who stops, backs up, and gives you another shot.

Mercury Retrograde can also bring communication from old relationships and you may be revisited by people who have been out of your life for, months, or even years.

If you’ve been chasing the future in full steam ahead mode and stressing yourself out Mercury Retrograde says let go and trust in the divine because you can’t control everything.

Just remember to breathe, and take things slowly. And never take anything personal during Mercury Retrograde!

Try to find some comfort in knowing that sometimes two steps back can in the end propel you 10 steps forward.
