Cutting The Cords

cords-237x300

We are all linked on an energetic as well as a spiritual level the people we connect with can often influence what we think to how we feel.

Our connections with those around us can make us feel inspired and uplifted although occasionally we find ourselves having to deal with people or relationships where we feel drained.

You might have heard of the spiritual technique of cord cutting, this is where you visualise the other person, seeing the energetic cords that run between you and them then seeing them being cut then you must surround the ends with a healing white light and then send them on their way

It can be a very powerful yet doesn’t have to mean the end of the relationship that exists between you.  It’s more about reclaiming your own power and restoring the energy balance between you.

The modern day approach means that we need to use spiritual practices like cord cutting with other things that can heal or transform whatever situation we find ourselves in. Otherwise, we can visualise cords being cut until the sun goes down and smudge ourselves every day and still find ourselves feeling as we were before.

Here’s some of what you can do.

Try and avoid the urge to go back, if we’re talking about exes, then no checking out face book to see what they are up to and no midnight sexting or answering booty calls.  It can be harder to gently ease away from a relationship that’s passed its sell by date, but sometimes that’s what you need to do.

Try to fill the gap, everything that we do, including our thoughts, actions and habits can be hard to break. Get rid of your bad habits and replace them with ones that inspire you and lift your energy.  Try taking that evening course or find a new hobby this can help you transform or balance a relationship that saps the life out of you.

Focus on yourself, nurture yourself and then put your new found energy into making your life better.  Make an effort to spend time with people who make you feel good for all the right reasons.  Go after your dreams, remember who we connect with can impact on our whole life and what we wish to create.

Sometimes there is a bigger picture that can reveal the people who appear to be dragging us down, have shown up to help us step into our power or move us on to the right path. If someone is rude or aggressive remove yourself from that energy and literally go somewhere else.

By changing our energy and thoughts, we create the positive experiences we want in our life and people that we destined to meet.  Make some changes because that kind of magic can work for you.

The Shamanic Journey

th shaman med

Traveling to the Lower World.

Shamanism for thousands of years has helped with personal intuitive development and divination. It is effective in working to heal the self. Shamanism can support and sustain positive personal growth and enhance your spiritual connection. Journeying is a powerful meditative state. It takes us into a very special level of consciousness that helps us work more deeply with our intuition with spiritual guidance.

Prolonged hypnotic drumming is used to promote relaxation and the experience of a trance-like visionary awareness. Through journeying, we can find alternative realms during our visions and dreams through spirit travel we can open the door to an awareness to other worlds. These other worlds are sources of the energy, creativity and passion, finding our way there can be a blessing that brings us wisdom and self-empowerment in a positive, healing way.

Journeying is often done lying down, with our eyes closed, while in a trance-like state we travel to other realms. There are generally three types of journeys that can be undertaken.

Lower World can be a dimension of healing and self- empowerment. Upper World can be a place of wisdom and teaching. In Middle World, where spirit is present and ready to work with us.

To begin, get comfortable, lie down, breathe deeply, close your eyes, allow yourself to be carried by the rhythm of the drum. Focus on a specific intent such as “I want to meet and ask advice of my Spirit Helpers” or “I want to talk with my Guardian Angel” or “I want to work on healing for myself.

Begin by focusing on and going to a favorite safe place. Many people choose a beautiful garden or beach, and then look for an entryway into the earth, maybe through a hollow in a tree. This entryway often leads to a tunnel that then leads somewhere else. That somewhere else – whatever it may be like – is the Lower World which is what we are using for this journey. As you are being carried by the sound of the drumming, let yourself explore this wonderful place, seeking out your Spirit Helpers. The Lower World often has a loving, earthy feel. It is frequently inhabited by Spirit Guides who are deeply connected to Mother Earth, mythical animals and elfin creatures.

When you encounter a being in your traveling, whether its human, animal, angel or spirit , ask it if it is in fact your Spirit Guide, Helper, Teacher or Power Animal. You can ask its name, what wisdom or message it has for you, why is it in your life, what you can or should work on together. Then, let your Journey proceed, doing as your Helper directs. At the end of the journey you hear the callback rhythm of the drum a sound like four insistent rapping on a door, or when you feel you have completed your Journey’s you can tell your Helpers that you wish return to ordinary reality. Remember to thank them for their assistance, lastly you will hear a series of light, rapid drumbeats, during this rhythm, allow yourself to drift gently back into your body. Reverse the path you took during your spirit travel. There will then be a second series of the four rapping’s on the door. That’s the time to let yourself properly reconnect with your body. Slowly, gently open your eyes. Come back to realty.

Do you walk on the dark side ?

face_shatter_by_husam2012-d5tlltb

Empaths are typically known as the healers of the world. They’re the people whose senses are heightened the ones that not only see the different energies of the world, but actually feel them, experience them.

Those who are not empaths might think that this ability to feel what others feel is a gift, but if you can convince an empath to talk about their gift, they might tell you that it’s not always sunshine and rainbows. In fact, it’s quite often not a very fun gift to possess at all.

Because of their gift, so many people rely on them for support. Empaths are almost always trusted because they make people feel safe. And while the empath is capable of handling the emotions of others, they also experience quite a bit of stress because of it.

The dark side of being an empath comes in the form of having two conflicting voices constantly roaring at each other inside of their heads. Constantly feeling both the good and the bad, the negative and the positive, to the point that they feel overwhelmed.

Empaths are more susceptible to the negative energies in life. Their intense ability to feel can’t get away from the deep rooted evils that exist in the world. Their deep understanding of how the world exists and operates is enough to confuse and sadden them. What they can’t understand is why this type of energy exists in the first place, if all it does is hurt others.

The dark side of being an empath is constantly being exhausted and fatigued from the energies you absorb. But, you’d never know it. Because the empath never dares break down or lose composure. They quietly observe, acknowledge and feel.

As many others do, empaths want to be loved and accepted for who they are. But, it is their generosity and kindness that often sees them being taken advantage of by those who only take, never give. Empaths are ‘givers’ by all means, ready to show kindness to those in need at all times.

The dark side of being an empath is not knowing that being so selfless places an incredibly heavy burden on one’s self. Even the empaths that do recognize the burdensome nature of their selflessness often choose to ignore it, because carrying that weight is more meaningful than letting it fall on someone else’s shoulders.

The dark side of being an empath is knowing that you willingly neglect both your body and mind for the sake of others. A neglect that builds over the years, eventually resulting in the need to go soul searching once again,  a practice that we only take up when we feel completely lost.

The dark side of being an empath is knowing that even when they fall in love, they never do so entirely. They simply aren’t capable of giving every ounce of their heart to someone else. They know that if they tried, the intensity of the passion would most likely be too much to handle, for themselves and their partners.

Which is why they always keep a little part of them hidden away from the rest of the world. They keep a guard up out of necessity, even if they want nothing more than to let it down and succumb to an overwhelming love.

The dark side of being an empath is the war that is always being waged within. The war they wage against the sadness, the darkness, and the sorrowful side of themselves that is always trying to rear its ugly head and lead them into self-destruction.

The only way they can fight this successfully is by learning to distinguish between emotions that are their own, and emotional energies that are imposters, invading from the outside. Empaths need people who understand who they are, people they can talk to and who will listen.

Empaths need to be able to let down the wall they’ve built up around their feelings so that they can let their empathic selves do good in their own life.

Otherwise, empaths are destined to fight a war within themselves that never ends.

Ostara – Spring Equinox

nerthus-lisa-hunt1

Ostara – Spring Equinox – March 21st/22nd

This marks the Spring Equinox. This is our Pagan Easter or rather; this is the day that the Christians borrowed to be their Easter.

With lots of painted eggs and baskets of flowers our houses are also decorated with them too.

It’s the second of the 3 spring festivals, this Sabbat occurs in mid march when day and night are of equal length.

This festival is also of fertility where seeds are blessed for planting soon after.

You can use this time to free yourself from things which hinder your progress, It is a good time to perform self banishing’s and also performs workings to gain things we have lost, or to gain qualities and things that we wish to have.

For your altar you can use the following:

Incense: Jasmine, Rose
Decorations: Yellow Disk or Wheel, Coloured Egg’s, Hare Decorations, Spring  Flowers.
Candles : yellow, light green, lemon yellow and pale pink.

Frankincense is good oil to burn during Ostara to welcome spring and to refresh your life.

Flowers should be laid on the altar, placed around the circle and strewn on the ground. The cauldron can be filled with spring water and flowers, and buds and blossoms may be worn as well. A small potted plant should be placed on the altar.
Arrange the altar, light the candles and incense, and cast the circle.
Invoke the Goddess and God in whatever words please you.
Stand before the altar and gaze upon the plant then touch the plant and connect with its energies and through it, all nature.

After a time if you wish, still touching the plant you can say – I walk the earth in friendship, Mother Goddess and Father God, instil within me through this plant warmth for all living things. Teach me to love the earth and all its treasures.

Take time to Meditate upon the changing of the season.  Works of magic can take place if you feel it’s necessary.

Celebrate with a simple feast, and enjoy your chocolate eggs 🙂

Ask your angels to help you on your journey.

angel-wings-angels-25201950-1280-800

Whichever stage of your spiritual path you have reached, the angels can show you further guidance about your life, they can help and guide you each step of the way, if you let them. The more you open up to the guidance and love of the angels, the more your lives will improve.

You can work with your angels and guardian angels and learn how to communicate with them, and receive messages about any questions you have about your life. Your life can become easier by working with the angels, all you have to do is ask, and be open to their help.

Below are the stages of development, you might like to take a look to see which one best applies to you.

Exploring – You have become interested in some spiritual areas, and are exploring further, via books, courses, etc.

Crossroads – You have reached a point where you feel there is more to life than mere materialism, and are no longer satisfied with your old life. You feel there is a ‘calling’ to do something else or more with your life. It’s probably time to move on even though you may not know what that is yet.

New Beginnings – You have begun developing a new path you have trained, and may have begun a new career, or are offering healing, readings or treatments.

Bigger Mission – You have been on your new path for a long time, and see the bigger picture of why you are here and your purpose, and are busy following it with a happy heart.

Unawakened – Those that are going about their normal life, unaware of anything spiritual, maybe they don’t believe or are just not interested.

Angels are the beings of light who respond to our calls for guidance, assistance, protection, and comfort. The angels are here to help us, especially when our intent is to bring joy and healing to ourselves and others.  You can ask for angels to surround your loved ones, your home, and your business. Angels receive great joy at helping us, and they ask only that we occasionally remember to say, “Thank you” in return for their help.

Archangels these are the angels who supervise the guardian angels and angels upon the earth. You can call upon an archangel whenever you need powerful and immediate assistance. Angels and archangels cannot intervene in our lives unless we specifically ask for their help. The only exception to this is a life endangering situation, where we could die before our time. Otherwise, it’s up to us to remember to constantly invite angels and archangels into our lives.

If you are unsure where to start get yourself a pack of angel cards, pick a pack you are drawn too, take some time getting to know them and when you ready to go ground yourself, then ask your angels to help and guide you with any questions you may have then pick your cards, study the messages on the cards and let your intuition guide you.

Tired and stressed try using Lavender oil.

lavender-blog-image

Lavender has been used for over 2,500 years. Ancient Persians, Greeks, and Romans added the flowers to their bathwater to help wash and purify their skin.

The Egyptians used lavender as a perfume, as well as for mummification, mummies were wrapped in lavender dipped garments.

In Greece and Rome, it was used as an all around cure. Lavender was even used during the Great Plague of London in the 17th century. People fastened lavender flowers around their waists, believing it will protect them from the Black Death.

Lavender oil is known for its anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antidepressant, antiseptic, antibacterial properties. It also has antispasmodic, analgesic, detoxifying and can have sedative effects.

Lavender oil is one of the most well known essential oils in aromatherapy.

It can be added to your bath or shower to help relieve aching muscles and stress.

Try Massaging on your skin as a relief for muscle or joint pain, as well as for skin conditions like burns, acne and wounds you will have to dilute it with carrier oil.

It can be Inhaled or vaporized you can use an oil burner or add a few drops to a bowl of hot water, and then breathe in the steam.

Used as a compress by soaking a towel in a bowl of water infused with a few drops of lavender oil. You can also apply this to sprains or muscle injuries.

Lavender oil is known for its calming and relaxing properties, which may aid in alleviating insomnia, anxiety, depression, restlessness and stress. Due to its wide variety of uses, lavender oil may help with nearly all kinds of ailments, from pain to infections.

I believe that using natural oils like lavender oil is one of the best holistic tactics that you can incorporate in your life. However, there are a few important guidelines to remember when using lavender oil.

Using diluted lavender oil is generally considered safe for most adults, but may not be recommended for children. Applying pure lavender oil to your skin may also cause irritation, so I recommend infusing it with carrier oil, such as olive oil or coconut oil. Dissolving it in water also works.

Try using the oil in a burner in the evenings to help you to relax or meditate.

For all you witches out there It can also be used in spells and candle magic.

What’s Your Karmic Path Number .

shutterstock_74574187

Numerologists believe that difficult times in our life can often be linked to Karmic issues. To find our personal link to Karma we need to look at the numerology of our day of birth. This can give us a valuable insight as to what our life lesson may be.

If your day of birth number is double digits like mine which is 14 then reduce it by adding  1 + 4 = 5   My Karmic connection number would be 5.

The only exception to this rule is the master numbers which are 11, 22 and 33.

When you have your number of Karmic connection number look below to find out what it could mean for you in numerology.

1: This number indicates a deep need to express your individuality and to be Independent. It may be that you were prevented from doing this in a previous lifetime. You need to accept the challenges that life brings.

2: This number indicates a deep sensitivity on the emotional levels and a need to develop emotional maturity. There is a deep desire for justice with this number and a need to learn to understand the emotional needs of others.

3: This number brings a need for creative expression. You have a lot of love to give and the ability to uplift people. It may be that in a former life you were not allowed to be outwardly expressive. There is a need to work on self esteem.

4: The energy of this number brings a need for order and stability and security. The great lesson often associated with this number is Self control and responsibility.

5: The free spirit with the gift of communication. Five needs to try new things and be constantly changing and growing. There is a low boredom threshold here. The lesson of this number is often to do with inner control.

6: The number of Balance and Harmony and of family. Very caring and loving these are the archetypal parents. The karmic lesson here is usually about learning to maintain a sense of inner balance and of “letting go”.

7: Analytical and yet often considerate sevens need to have their own space and privacy. There is a need to learn to discriminate as the seven can often be taken in by those who are less honest.

8: The number of organization and of the material world. Material success is often important to the eight. The lesson is to not lose sight of why you are striving to achieve. You may find it difficult to “let go” of old emotional hurts.

9: The humanitarian with a great deal of compassion and love to give. Honest and kind your desire is to help make the world a better place. The Karmic lesson of this number is often about learning to control the emotions and to learn from your mistakes.

11: Unconventional and highly intuitive these are the people who bridge the old with the new.

The lesson here tends to deal with patience and with understanding that perfection cannot actually be attained. You must learn to appreciate what you have.

22: Powerful energy with this number. There is a fine line between realistic achievement and illusions. You need to learn to use your abilities wisely to empower people. Work on self esteem.

33: Very knowledgeable with the ability to enlighten and share wisdom. The lesson here is to learn to use your skills to help others without giving in to the ego.

Master numbers can be difficult numbers as the life lessons can sometimes be more difficult to learn. You may find yourself repeating the same mistakes over until you get it right. It is important to remember that these lessons make us stronger as people and it is the difficult times that often bring the greatest rewards.

Candlemancy is magic using a candle

467211761

Candlemancy is divination using a candle

Light a candle, focus on your question and drip the melted wax into a dish or pan of water, then interpret the symbols or shapes the wax makes as it hardens. This method works best with dark coloured candles, or you can use the proper colour candle representing the spell your doing at the time.

When you try this you will need the long taper candles  (8 inches works well ) of the 4 basic elements, green, yellow, red and blue. You will also need a large vessel filled with cold water. This can be of anything, glass is best they can withstand heat. It’s probably not a good idea to use plastic.

Put the candles, lighter and the vessel of water on a table or other flat surface. If you have a particular question you want answered, use the appropriate candle colour. If the question does not need to be related to any of above the element colours, use white. If you have no question but simply desire a glimpse into your future, use white or yellow.

Calm your mind, thinking about your question, light the candle and hold it upright over the water for a moment, when the candle is fully flaming and has begun melting the wax, tilt it and hold steadily about an inch over the water’s surface. The wax will begin dripping onto the water.  As the wax drops it will form a pattern on the surface of the water. If you are having trouble achieving this, begin moving the candle slowly, allowing the drops to touch one another and so to form a line on the water after  a few minutes a definite shape will appear on the water  now look at the shape.

What does it look like, Pick it up carefully so as not to break it and turn it over. Does it look the same or different, study it to see if it says anything to you symbolically.

Here are some shapes and patterns commonly found in the drip method and their traditional meanings.

Spirals
This is the most common, because of the way the wax rotates on the surface of the water, spirals represent reincarnation, the universe, the world or perhaps a particular life. The interpretation is a personal thing no one else can tell you exactly how these symbols relate to you. Usually the first meaning that comes into your mind is the correct one.

Circles
Circles represent eternity and fertility, and can be interpreted according to the question asked. Fertility would perhaps represent a new activity, financial security, or even a new baby on the way. It may also signify the successful completion of a project. Eternity may mean just that – it will be a long time before something is completed or comes to pass.

Broken Lines
If the wax drops form into lines but they aren’t connected, it can represent a lack of focus in your life, business or other pursuits. It can also signify forces working against you, but don’t take this too literally it is a sign that changes must be made to bring order into your life.

Dots
Dots, unconnected wax drops, sometimes are the only thing you can get this sometimes signifies lack of attention to the divination, but it can also mean that the problem is too complex for an answer at this time. If you try several times with only dots coming up each time, you’re either asking the wrong questions, or if you haven’t asked one, you shouldn’t be seeking a glimpse into your future at this time. It’s probably best to let the candles and water rest, and to attempt a different method.

Carromancy – How To Tell Your Fortunes With Wax.

You can use any colour candle, though the darker ones will show up best. It takes only a bit of imagination on your part to see the images which emerge from the hot wax dropped into a bowl of cold water.

Here are some of the shapes and symbols for you to read it may take some practice so just be patient.

Samhain, the beginning of the spiritual New Year.

samhain

Many of us will celebrate Samhain over a few days and nights, which usually include a series of solo rites as well as ceremonies, spells, feasts, and gatherings with family and friends.

Pagans celebrate Samhain from sundown on October 31 through November 1.

Halloween, short for All Hallows Eve, its celebrated on and around October 31. Halloween and Samhain are not the same, they are two separate celebrations that differ considerably in focus and practice.

Samhain’s is associated with death and nature’s rhythms. In many places, Samhain coincides with the end of the growing season, as vegetation dies back with the frosts.

This is also when the veil is thin between the world of the living and the realm of the dead and this enables us to contact and communicate with loved ones.

For those who have lost loved ones in the past year, Samhain rituals can be a way to bring closure to the grieving and to help them adjust to their loved ones being in the Otherworld by spiritually communing with them.

There are many ways we celebrate Samhain. Here are a few listed below, why not try one of them for yourself.

Samhain Nature Walk. Take a meditative walk in a woodland area near your home. Observe and contemplate the colours, aromas, sounds, and other sensations of the season. If possible gather some natural objects and upon your return use them to decorate your home.

Seasonal Imagery. Decorate your home with Samhain seasonal symbols and the colours of orange and black. Place an Autumnal wreath on your front door. Create displays with pumpkins, cornstalks, gourds, acorns, and apples. Light candles in cauldrons.

Ancestors Altar. Gather photographs, heirlooms, and other mementos of deceased family, friends, and pets. Arrange them on a table, along with a few candles. Light the candles in their memory as you call out their names and express well wishes. Thank them for being part of your life. Sit quietly and pay attention to what you experience. Make a note  of any messages you receive in your journal.

Feast of the Dead. Prepare a Samhain dinner. Include a place setting at your table for a deceased loved one. Add a place setting, and to the plate, add a bit of each food served. Invite your ancestors to come and dine with you. After the feast, place the contents of the plate and cup outdoors as an offering for the Dead.

Cemetery Visit. Visit and tend the gravesite of a loved one at a cemetery. Call to mind memories.Place an offering there such as fresh flowers, dried herbs, or water.

Reflections. Reflect on you and your life over the past year. Review journals, planners, photographs and blogs that you have created during the past year. Consider how you have grown, accomplishments, challenges, adventures, travels, and anything new that you have learnt.

Renovate. Select an area of your home or life as a focus. Examine it. Re organize it. Release what is no longer needed. Celebrate renewal and transformation.

Bonfire Magic. Light a bonfire outdoors or kindle flames in a fireplace or a small cauldron. Write down a habit that you wish to end and cast it into the flames as you imagine release. Then imagine yourself adopting a new, healthier way of being.

Divinatory Guidance. Using Tarot, Runes, Scrying, or some other method of divination, seek and reflect on guidance for the year to come. Write a summary of your process and any messages you received.

Divine Invocations. Honor and call upon the Divine associated with Samhain, such as the Crone Goddess and Horned God of Nature. Invite them to aid you in your understanding of the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. If you have lost loved ones in the past year, ask these Divine Ones to comfort and support you.
