Many of us can feel a connection to the moon and some of us notice an increase in our intuition, we may also feel more energetic and a bit more sensitive to our environment and what’s going on around us.
This is because our bodies and minds are connected to the lunar cycles and during this time we have heighten senses and sleeping can often be a major factor with many of us not sleeping properly for 3 or 4 days.
We have a super moon and total lunar eclipse at the end of the month this is a good time to try some sort of divination and one of the more suitable and perhaps obvious methods during this time is moon scrying.
We need a reflective surface as a tool for scrying, the Egyptians and the Romans did this during their religious rituals. Even Nostradamus made notes about staring into a bowl of water by candlelight to gain inspiration.
This type of divination is one of the simplest to do, you could do it outside by sitting somewhere that you can see the moon reflecting on the water where you are using the moon to illuminate the water for you.
You can do this the day before or on the day of the full moon or the day after all or any of them is acceptable.
To do this inside or in your garden you will need a table, a dark bowl and jug of water to fill the bowl, a note pad or journal if you keep one, peace and quiet or soft meditate music.
Cast your circle or use protective white light, if you work with guides and helpers call them close.
Prepare yourself to start by closing your eyes and focusing your mind on the energy around you listen to the sounds around you tilt your head back and face the moon and bring that energy towards you.
Take some time to gather that energy and It’s a pull, it’s a sensation that you can feel, take your time to feel it and recognise your connection to it, and to the Divine.
When you are ready to begin scrying, open your eyes, you may start to feel an unusual sense of clarity and alertness now pour the water into the bowl from the jug, visualise the energy of the moon charging that water.
Now position yourself so that you can see the moon’s light reflected directly into the water. Stare into the water; you are looking for patterns, symbols or pictures. You may see images moving, or perhaps even words forming.
You may even have thoughts pop into your head that may not seem to mean anything right now, this is where you can use your journal write it down.
Spend as much time as you feel gazing into the water for some it may be just a few minutes, or even an hour. Stop when you begin to feel restless, or if you’re becoming distracted.
When you are finished make sure you have written down everything you saw, thought and felt during your session.
If some of it doesn’t make sense, don’t worry give it for a few days to let your unconscious mind process it. Chances are it will make sense eventually.
It’s also possible that you could receive a message that’s meant for someone else if something doesn’t seem to apply to you, think about your family or circle of friends, and who it might be meant for.
Afterwards, you can leave your water out overnight to charge it, or you can pour it away. Finally ground yourself by making tea or having something to eat.
