Clear quartz, the witches favourite.

19959040_10155394674531772_3304140744206546932_n

Witches, if you are only going to have one crystal, then this is a must have. Quartz is one of the most versatile of crystals, and it is able to do just about everything you need. It boosts the powers of other crystals, focuses and directs energy, especially quartz points, and can be used for protection balancing, meditation, and dispelling negative energy.

All witches have a wand, although traditionally a wand is associated with wood rather than crystal, a crystal can be equally effective in directing the energy of the caster. Long pieces of quartz can be used to define the circle or simply to direct will when working.

We have to cleanse our crystals and there are many ways to charge them, by using moon water, moon light, even burying in the earth, one of the simplest ways is to leave crystals to charge on a bed or inside a geode of quartz, I do this often to the ones that I wear. Quartz is a charging crystal that rejuvenates your other crystals and leaves them cleansed and charged.

Quartz has protective properties and can be worn close to the body either in the form of jewellery or in a pocket or bra to protect the wearer. It can also be placed around the home for protection to your property.

Quartz can be used in a ritual, it can be worn as jewellery, sewn into ritual robes or even attached to magical tools, it helps channel the energy and is used for protection, to keep negativity out and enhance the safety of the circle and the participants.

For psychic dreams, if you place this crystal beneath your pillow, the quartz can assist you to have dreams of a prophetic nature.

During healing, quartz can be moved over the body this helps to heal any weak patches in the aura and restores energy.  When using quartz to heal remember to cleanse your stones after using as they will pick up any residue of negativity clinging to the aura.

Infused your crystal in water, ideally its best left overnight in the full moon. The water can then be used for cleansing your magic tools, and for home or work clearings and blessings.

Lastly, probably the most widely known use of clear quartz is the crystal ball. A crystal ball is used for divination, some seers see a physical image in the crystal and others use the surface to rest and clear their mind and allow them to either see images in their mind’s eye or to enable knowledge to come forward, this can take a lot of patience and practice as my development circle tribe will tell you.

Moon Child

19731788_10155375740096772_9011545864235912862_n

Knowing which moon phase we are currently in can help us to arrange and run our lives more smoothly. Below is an introduction to the Moon Phases giving an insight into which is the best phase to do things in our day to day lives to help achieve the best result.

The New Moon

The New Moon, can be seen as a symbol of new beginnings, it is a good time to start new work projects and build new relationships, a time for new challenges and new cycles. This is not a time to analyze but to allow things to grow and flourish. Any new starts at this time will grow and develop. Our energy levels are usually high at this time.

The Crescent Moon

The Crescent Moon, can be seen as a time of transition when we become aware that although we are still influenced by the past, it is over and the promise of the future is yet to be revealed. There are things from the past that we may have to lay to rest before moving forwards to fulfil our hopes and dreams. You may find that this is a good time to open up and talk.

First Quarter Moon

The First Quarter Moon, is a time when things are starting to come to a peak you may feel a slight irritation but this is just due to the need to sort things out, as yet you may not know what needs sorting. Step back and assess things objectively. It’s a time for looking at ideas and searching for solutions to any problems that may have arisen. This can prove to be a very sensitive time, but can also bring you the courage needed to help you to move forward.

Gibbous Moon

The Gibbous Moon, is a good time to devote ourselves to that which has great meaning to us. We are able to use our mental abilities which are very clear during this time. You may have truly brilliant discoveries or ideas and can look clearly at what you have already accomplished. Due to our heightened energy levels we are able to give more of ourselves.

Full Moon

The Full Moon, often during this time we are able to see ourselves clearly and any hidden tensions within are revealed. We are able to see both sides of any issue and we are able to work on any imbalances. This is an excellent time to meditate in relation to any personal issues that may be concerning you. A time for acknowledgments and answers to things that may have been hidden from view until now. It is also a good time for romance and fertility.

Disseminating Moon

The Disseminating Moon, this is often when we are aware of what we have already learned and we have probably have learned our lessons well. It is a time to take any social obligations sincerely. You may feel strongly that you want to pass on those hard learned lessons.  At this time you may wish to share your knowledge and wisdom with others.

Last Quarter Moon

The Last Quarter Moon, is a time when all aspects of our lives that need balancing are magnified, a time to tie up those loose ends, and a time of conscious action. You  have the ability to choose how to act or react and you are in charge of the outcome of any difficult situations. It is up to us whether we act or not.

Balsamic Moon

The Balsamic Moon, is a time to reap what you have sown. If you have learned those lessons then you are now able to move on. This is a time of karma, this is when the outcome, is out of our hands and we have to accept the decisions we have made previously. This is a good time to let go of the past and get ready to move on.

The Lynx Spirit Animal

th.jpg

Recently I did a shamanic journey to see what would come up for me; I do them every now and again for guidance. I popped on one of my shamanic drumming CD’s and it wasn’t long before I was in the jungle, it was brilliant!

Along my jouney I could hear the sounds, smell the earthy tones and see all the sights around me, while walking along with my one of my guides I noticed a large cat, it turned and looked right at me with large green eyes, I wasn’t sure what type it was, upon returning from my meditation I looked up the types of large cats, it was the Lynx that resonated with me.

I thought it was interesting and that you might like to read the meanings and lessons of having a Lynx as a spirit messenger.

Here are some of the meanings I found while doing some research on the internet.

The lynx spirit animal is known to be a very excellent hunter, and is considered the master seer because of its gift of second sight. The lynx symbolism can teach you so many things that will help you understand the spiritual mysteries of the world, and how you can best apply this knowledge and wisdom to your daily life.

The meaning of the lynx points to your gift of ‘hearing’ other people’s thoughts and seeing into their souls, as well as their intentions and thoughts. You can pick up on vibrational energies and use them to determine your actions and responses.

The lynx symbolism also speaks about instinct and the powers of observation. You can always rely on these things, especially when you are feeling confused or disconnected.

The lynx totem represents your vision and foresight, and your ability to see through lies and deceptions and find the unseen. This helps you develop awareness to the world around you.

The lynx meaning also has something to do with valuing your promises and taking care of people’s confidence in you. When you give someone your word, you must honour it.

You are being encouraged to trust your instincts. You should also awaken your abilities if you want to advance in life.

The lynx meaning will help you determine what’s real and practical from what’s superstitious and imaginary. It will help you become more watchful about the people around you and the events that are unfolding before you.

When the lynx spirit animal comes walking into your life, know that not everything is exactly what it appears to be. You need to use your abilities if you want to see things or people for what they truly are.

Doing so will help you avoid disappointment, hurt, and betrayal. Seeing the truth in matters will guide you to make the best choice that will benefit you today and in the future.

Seeing the lynx spirit animal means that you should stop and smell the roses, for love will soon manifest in your life. You may need to open your eyes first to the deception that some people are playing on you, but once you get this out of the way, you will be able to see all the romantic possibilities clearly.

The lynx meaning will encourage you to understand your life truths, and even reconsider the values that they hold. This is a good time to be more flexible, adventurous, and light-hearted when it comes to love.

Positive Traits of the Lynx Spirit Animal

You have the most fun and creativity when you’re solitary, but you also unleash your playful and less serious side when you’re in the mood. You know how to have fun, and you get things done.

You value your alone time because this allows you to discover truths about yourself and others. Knowing the truth gives you purpose, understanding, and connection.

Having the lynx totem makes you comfortable with who you are. You don’t need anyone’s approval or validation.

You have a very calm and quiet nature. But when you speak, everybody listens.

You are a very patient person. You wait for the perfect timing.

People like to share their secrets with you because they can trust you to keep them. At the same time, they don’t want to be around you because they know you can see through their facades.

Even if you don’t look it, you know how to play and have fun, and you can be very passionate about things. Most of all, you give importance to the people in your life, even if you don’t show it all the time.

You also don’t like to discuss your feelings because you know that you’re quite weak when arguing about them. You don’t like being wrong, being taught a lesson, or losing, and you will just choose to shut up when you’re in an uncomfortable confrontation.

People have a hard time getting you to communicate at command because you will just do so when you feel like it. When you don’t like a person, you will remain completely shut off.

Call on your Lynx Spirit Animal when:

  • You are feeling challenged spiritually or emotionally.
  • Listen to your heart, because there you will find the truth and wisdom that you need. Life will not always make sense, but you can always figure it out by tuning in to what your heart is telling you.
  • You are going through a tough life lesson.
  • There will always be ups and downs, but they don’t last forever. Be strong and do what you can to survive this challenging period!
  • You need to be more focused when it comes to achieving your goals.

Stop talking and start doing. Work quietly and determinedly, and don’t focus on the noise that aims to distract you.

The lynx spirit animal is reminding you that everything that is hidden will be revealed one day. The meaning of the lynx is also asking you to pause before you respond to avoid putting yourself in awkward social situations. Sometimes being silent is the best response.

The lynx symbolism wants you to address insecurities that you have so that you can grow and progress to the next level. If you will not do anything positive about them, you will be stuck with this version of yourself, and you will have a hard time achieving the life that you desire.

If you are in the Essex area and would like to try one of my shamanic mediations classes drop me an email.

The Raven, The Magic & The Journey

5825241747cce5ec9a8aac03982a7854

Through out time, the Raven has carried the medicine of magic. This has been the case in many cultures. We honour the Raven as the bringer of magic, it is sacred, in the medicine ways. Those who fear Raven may do so because they have been dabbling in areas in which they had no knowledge, Shamanic journeying, magical workings or a spell that may have backfired on them. Rather than analysing the dark side of sorcery, one should realize that you will only fear the Raven if you need to learn about your inner fears or your own created demons.

Raven magic is a powerful medicine that can give you the courage to enter the darkness of the unknown or the void, which is the home of all that is not yet in form. Some call it the Great Mystery. The Great Mystery existed before all other things came into being, spirit lives inside the void and the Raven is the messenger of the void.

If a Raven appears in your spread, dream or journey you are about to experience a change in consciousness. This may involve walking a spiritual path or doing something new if you are already learning the ways of spirit. It would be a signal brought to you by the Raven that says, ” You have earned the right to see and experience a little more of life’s magic.”

In Native teachings the colour black means many things, but it does not mean bad or evil. Black can mean the seeking of answers, the void, or spiritual. The blue-black of the Raven contains an iridescence that speaks of the magic of darkness a changeability of shape and form that brings an awakening in the process.

Raven is the guardian of ceremonial magic and in absent healing. In many healing circles, the Raven guides the magic of healing and the change in consciousness that will bring about a new reality and dispel disease or illness, the Raven brings in wellness.

It is the messenger that carries all energy flows of ceremonial magic between the ceremony itself and the intended destination. For instance, if a ceremony is being performed to send energy to a disaster area where people need courage and strength, the Raven would be the courier for that energy flow. The intention could be to allow the people of the devastated area to feel the concern and support of the participants in the ceremony.

If you have chosen a Raven, and then magic is in the air, don’t bother trying to figure it out, you can’t. It is the power of the unknown at work, and something special is about to happen. The deeper mystery, however, is how you will respond to the synchronicity of this alchemical moment. You can recognize it and use it to further enhance your growth, you can accept it as a gift from spirit, try not to limit the power given by trying to explain it away.

It may be time to call upon a Raven as a courier to carry an intention this may be some healing energy, a thought or a message. The Raven is the patron of smoke signals or spirit messages represented by smoke. So if you want to send a message to spirit, in order to contact your ancestors call a Raven or possibly, the ancients may be calling you to give you the answers that you seek.

Remember, this magic came from the void of darkness, and the challenge is to bring it to light and in doing so you will honour the magic within.

Shamanic Meditation Classes

th shaman med

Shamanism for thousands of years has helped with personal intuitive development and divination. It is effective in working to heal the self. Shamanism can support and sustain positive personal growth and enhance your spiritual connection. Journeying is a powerful meditative state. It takes us into a very special level of consciousness that helps us work more deeply with our intuition with spiritual guidance.

Prolonged hypnotic drumming is used to promote relaxation and the experience of a trance like visionary awareness. Through journeying, we can find alternative realms during our visions and dreams through spirit travel we can open the door to an awareness to other worlds. These other worlds are sources of the energy, creativity and passion, finding our way there can be a blessing that brings us wisdom and self-empowerment in a positive, healing way.

Journeying is often done lying down, with our eyes closed, while in meditation we travel to other realms. There are generally three types of journeys that can be undertaken.

Lower World can be a dimension of healing and self- empowerment. Upper World can be a place of wisdom and teaching. In Middle World, where spirit is present and ready to work with us.

Lie down and get comfortable, breathe deeply, close your eyes, allow yourself to be carried by the rhythm of the drum. Focus on a specific intent such as “I want to meet and ask advice of my Spirit Helpers” or “I want to talk with my Guardian Angel” or “I want to work on healing for myself.

We begin by focusing and going to a safe place. Many people choose a beautiful garden or beach, and then look for an entryway into the earth, maybe through a hollow in a tree, you are carried by the sound of the drumming as you let yourself explore this wonderful place, seeking out your Spirit Helpers. The Lower World often has a loving, earthy feel. It is frequently inhabited by Spirit Guides who are deeply connected to Mother Earth, mythical animals and elfin creatures.

When you encounter a being in your traveling, whether its human, animal, angel or spirit , ask it if it is in fact your Spirit Guide, Helper, Teacher or Power Animal. You can ask its name, what wisdom or message it has for you, why is it in your life, what you can or should work on together. Then, let your Journey proceed, doing as your Helper directs. At the end of the journey you hear the callback rhythm of the drum a sound like four insistent rapping on a door, or when you feel you have completed your Journey’s you can tell your Helpers that you wish return to ordinary reality.

Remember to thank them for their assistance, lastly you will hear a series of light, rapid drumbeats, during this rhythm, allow yourself to drift gently back into your body. Reverse the path you took during your spirit travel. There will then be a second series of the four rapping’s on the door. That’s the time to let yourself properly reconnect with your body. Slowly, gently open your eyes. Come back to realty.

These classes will start in June on a Sunday afternoon in Chelmsford town centre, cost £10 if you would like to join us message me you will need to put your name down and payment is up front.

The Morrigan, the Celtic Goddess of Death and the Black Raven of Death and Rebirth

11063544_1135225753161610_3220175546137757483_n

The Morrígan (“phantom queen”) or Mórrígan (“great queen”), also written as Morrígu or in the plural as Morrígna, and spelt Morríghan or Mór-ríoghain in Modern Irish, is a Goddess from Irish mythology.

The Morrigan’s major form is of an old woman, wrapped in a cape of black raven feathers. Sometimes she takes the form of the death raven announcing death, or the banshee predicting it with shrieks. She is the thunderhead that descends at death, and the soul which is torn from the body rises through it like lightning. Her body becomes the conduit of death, the stormy pathway of the soul.

This is not for all people but it is the way she appears to the Fair Folk. Because she is the pathway, the vast network of reincarnation compressed into a cloudy mirror, she can guide the soul as she chooses. She needs only to change the pathways. Usually she is a subtle mist, but on the battlefield, she is storm clouds and thunder, the hag screaming for the dead, and the black death-horse which gallops through the sky carrying its newly deceased rider.

She is also, in secret, the goddess of incarnation. People do not like to believe that incarnations are guided. They prefer to believe that souls are generated at birth, or that some great god has chosen their fate. That the dark death goddess carries the soul in her black wings to rebirth is a frightening idea. Perhaps if the soul were brought by the stork, it would be more acceptable to the modern imagination

Another role of the Morrigan is associated with the hunting falcon, which is a rare and special role for her. Instead of a raven who guides the soul at birth or death, she becomes that falcon that guides the healer or mage in initiation.

Almost by necessity, given the lack of records left by the Celts, some of information here about the Morrigan is based on intuition.

The reaction of most people to the presence of the Morrigan is fear because her presence is said to bring with it the aura of death. When she is near, the doorway of death is visible. The portal is composed of silver branches creating a doorway against the darkness. Beyond the door lay the worlds of incarnation.

There are many images that she uses. Long ago, she came as an animal – a wolf, a vulture, or jackal. Then she took on the forms of transportation – the death-coach and the death train. She is still the Nightmare who rides away with the soul, the dark angel of death that wrestles the soul out of the body.

The death-coach comes from a time when coaches were owned by wealthy aristocrats. A coach meant nobility, royalty, or superior status. A death-coach sent by a god would be luxurious black velvet and leather, with gold and silver trim. But it also meant that a deity, a superior was sending a messenger. It was how invitations were sent before the postal service and the telephone.

The death summons in whatever symbolic form brings awareness of the temporary nature of life.

The Morrigan’s mythic body is a woman or a bird, but her cosmic form is a cloud with pathways leading from it. People are pulled down these pathways by the force of their desires and sins, and by their striving and seeking after goals. It is as if they are magnetized, and the soul is pulled from one magnet to the next. The death-coach brings the soul to the mountaintop or the cave, and she is the dark cloud it must pierce to arrive at its destination. She also opens the most powerful of the magnetized pathways – the birthing child pulling down a soul into a body and a new incarnation.

As a helper to and teacher of mages, she is the falcon who guides the hunter to his goal. Falcons too have been used as a way to send messages. In all cases, the message that she sends is that another world a waits.

As a teacher, she sometimes presides over initiations. Initiation is the simulation of death, and new life. In the initiatory process, it is the death of the soul rather than the death of the body, but they echo each other. One must experience disintegration before reintegration.

Initiations transform people and are sometimes painful but they bring them to the awareness of deeper layers of vision and intuition.

As Black Goddess of initiation, some choose to enter her cauldron, to gain the wisdom that is there. It is a dangerous path, for there is a chance of destruction, and also a chance of losing the wisdom that is sought. Such was the case in the tales of Talieson and Kerridwen. Though she made the wisdom for one who was dull and needed it, nevertheless one who was clever gained it. Wisdom will not always go where we wish it.

Finding wisdom is hard. Sometimes one must suffer unjustly, and sometimes one must deal with ugliness. But the Black Goddess has wisdom of the pathways of life and death, and from the dark cauldron of human need and desire, and from the process of incarnation itself, comes the bright drop of wisdom.

Mabon – Autumn Equinox

de9eaa97d8f240b1c8859182d6755a86

Mabon: Autumn Equinox – September 23rd

(Also known as Harvest Home, Harvest Tide, Fall Equinox, Autumn Equinox etc.), September 21-24.

Mabon marks the middle of harvest, it is a time of equal day and equal night, and for the moment nature is in balance. Up until Mabon, the hours of daylight have been greater than the hours from dusk to dawn. But from now on, it will be the opposite.

It is a time to reap what you have sown, of giving thanks for the harvest and the bounty the Earth provides.

Mabon is a time of celebration and balance, a time for finishing up old projects and plans and planting the seeds for new enterprises or a change in lifestyle.

This is the time to look back not just on the past year, but also your life, and to plan for the future. In the rhythm of the year Mabon is a time of rest and celebration, after the hard work of gathering the crops. Warm autumn days are followed by chill nights, as the Old Sun God returns to the embrace of the Goddess.

Goddesses – Modron.

Gods – Thoth, Thor, Hermes, and The Green Man.

Colours – Green, red, orange, yellow, brown and gold.

Decorate the altar with acorns, oak sprigs, pine and cypress cones, ears of corn, wheat stalks and other fruits and nuts. Also place there a small rustic basket filled with dried leaves of various colours and kinds.

Incense – Pine, sage, sweetgrass or myrhh.

Mabon is a good time to cast spells of balance and harmony. Protection, wealth and prosperity spells are appropriate as well.

The Raven and the Crow

497212d91889b1ed66d248ccda3b5681

Although they come from the same Corvinus family, these two different birds each bring about their own meanings and lore, although many are similar.  Typically, ravens are quite a bit bigger than crows, and they tend to be a bit shaggier looking. Both birds have an impressive repertoire of calls and noises they make, the raven’s call is usually a bit deeper and more guttural sounding than that of the crow.

Native Americans had great respect for ravens. Black, being the color of magical powers, and only to be feared if misused. Native Americans and in many other tribal traditions, the raven is the guardian of both ceremonial magic and healing circles and is also the patron of smoke signals. Of course, the context of the bird’s meaning can change from culture to culture.

Ravens are also thought to be the guardians of graveyards and of the dead. Both crows and ravens have appeared in a number of different mythologies throughout the ages. In some cases these birds are considered an omen of bad tidings, such as in Welsh folklore, the raven is an omen of death. If the raven makes a choking sound, it is a portent of the death rattle.  A raven could smell death and would hover over the area where its next victim is usually animals. In other cultures and traditions they represent a message from the Gods or from Death or the Spirit World itself. Several south western tribes heralded the Raven as the bringer of light that escaped from the darkness of the cosmos. They associate this bird with creation because it brought light where there was none. Other tribes looked upon this bird as a trickster or even a shape shifter because of its high intelligence and ability to adapt to different situations.

Even today Native Americans say they are good signs and counter the effects of bad spirits, they are a sign that danger has passed and will bring good luck.

To invoke the Raven as a bird of prophecy, you can use the old English rhyme used to interpret omens by the number of ravens, crows, or rooks seen in a flock:

One for bad news

Two for mirth

Three is a wedding

Four is a birth

Five is for riches

Six is a thief

Seven, a journey

Eight is for grief

Nine is a secret

Ten is for sorrow

Eleven is for love

Twelve is joy for tomorrow

In most parts of the world the raven is considered a prophet and a bad omen. In Ireland it was once domesticated for use in divination practices and the term “Raven’s Knowledge” was applied to the human gift of second sight.

The raven symbolizes gratitude and affection, wisdom, hope, longevity, death, and fertility. In alchemy, it represents change and the advanced soul dying to this world. If the bird appears to you through your visions or dreams could be what are presently going on in your life or that a change may soon happen.

Like the larger raven, the symbolic crow is associated with the sun, longevity, beginnings, death, change, bad luck and prophecy. The crow is associated with motherly love and spiritual strength. It was believed that fairies turned into crows in order to cause trouble.

Raven’s element is air, and she is a messenger spirit, which Native American shamans use to project their magic over great distances. Because they fly high toward the heavens, they can take prayers from the people to the heavens and, in turn, bring back messages from the spiritual realm.

In Earth Magic, these birds’ feathers are used in spells, ceremonies and rituals to promote change. They are often used as a catalyst to help focus concentration while carrying out spells and wishes. Since these birds’ element is air, as are their feathers. Depending upon which bird the feather came, as well as its place of discovery is a determining factor in how you would use its feather in magic. I often use them in my spells, I do not buy feathers, in case the bird who gave them paid for them with their life by a horrible death. Instead, I wait patiently until I happen upon one usually in the park I pick them up and save them for when they are needed.

Keep a raven feather or artefact with your divination tools. Ravens especially preside over dark tools such as dark mirrors and onyx scrying balls, but can be used with any tool.
In dream work the raven is an excellent dream guide you can attach a raven feather to your dream catcher and hang it over your bed powerful and prophetic dreams it’s said will come your way. Adding raven feathers to your tools for instance attaching the black feathers to your wand, staff, athame, shield, drum, pentacle or crafting your tools in the shape of ravens is a powerful way to use Raven Magic. You can use the raven to guide you into trance. There are many poems and songs dedicated to the raven that you can use to guide you.

As a spirit guide, the crow will guide you in getting in touch with life mysteries and develop your ability to perceive subtle shifts in energy within yourself and in your environment. It has the ability to go beyond the illusions, especially duality of right and wrong, inner and outer.

Myself, I like both birds and can often sense a strong energy when near one and I see them as messengers, when I find black feathers nearby I often take it that a change is coming. I think the fact that they are black makes them seem daunting, they are in fact highly intelligent and fascinating creatures.

Shadow Self

Noell-S.-Oszvald-photo

Most of us start our spiritual journey because at some point the burdens of our pain becomes too much to bear. We look for a way out or a way to move forward in our life. If I live a certain way then we won’t have to deal with it. Being good will make it alright make it go away. The shadow side of ourselves this is the part of ourselves which destroys our relationships, kills our spirit, and keeps us from fulfilling our dreams.

It contains all the parts of ourselves that we have tried to hide or deny. It contains those dark aspects that we believe are not acceptable to our family, friends, and most important, ourselves. The dark side is hidden deeply within our consciousness, from ourselves and others. There is only one type message we get from this hidden place and that is there is something wrong with me. I’m not okay. I’m not that lovable. I’m not that deserving and I’m not worthy.

Many of us believe these messages. We believe that if we look closely enough at what lies deep down, we will find something we just don’t like. We resist looking long and hard for fear of discovering something that we can’t live with. We fear ourselves. We fear every thought and feeling we have repressed. Many of us are so disconnected from this fear we can only see it by reflection, what we project onto the world, onto our families and friends, and onto strangers. Our fear is so deep that the only way we can deal with it is either to hide or deny it. We become so good at this we actually forget that we are wearing masks to hide this side of ourselves. We believe we are the person we see in the mirror. So after years of failed relationships, careers, diets and dreams, we continue to suppress these disturbing internal messages. We tell ourselves that we will be okay and that things will get better.

Instead of trying to suppress our shadows, we need to own and embrace the very things we are most afraid of facing. By acknowledge that quality that belongs to you. It is the shadow that holds the clues, our shadows hold the essence of who we are. They hold our most treasured gifts. By facing these aspects of ourselves, we become free to experience the good and the bad, the dark and the light. It is by embracing all of who we are that we earn the freedom to choose what we do in this world. As long as we keep hiding, and projecting what is inside us, we have no freedom to be and no freedom to choose. However it is only when we discover that by embracing our worst fears, we can step into and be our greatest self.

Our shadows exist to teach us, guide us. They are for us to expose and explore. The feelings that we have suppressed are desperate to be integrated into ourselves. They are only harmful when they are repressed, because they can pop up at the worst times. Their sneak in and cause effect in the areas of your life that mean the most.  Like your relationships, your jobs, your children, maybe drinking too much, eating too much, even hating too much. Jealousy and envy are a aspect of your shadow self, when you are happy with who you are, who your with, what you do, you have no time to worry about what others are doing.

Your life will be transformed when you make peace with your shadow. You will no longer have to pretend to be someone or something you’re not. You will no longer have to prove you’re good enough. When you embrace your shadow you will no longer have to live in fear. Find the gifts of your shadow and you will finally revel in all the glory of your true self. Then you will have the freedom to create the life you have always desired.

I have only touched on this subject, you can find books that will help you understand and deal with your shadow self.
