Shell Magic

tumblr_p4ggdf60MG1v8d5b1o1_500

Long before new age shops our ancestors turned to nature for their power objects, seashells in particular have a long history of magical uses, as they were associated with the powers of various sea gods and goddesses of different cultures.

Properties

Being born of the ocean, shells are associated with the element of water, they are also associated with the moon, which drives ocean tides. Both the element of water and the moon have strong feminine energies that are receptive in nature, so shells are primarily used in magic to draw things you desire into your life.

Preparation

Shells taken from the ocean don’t need ritual preparation for magical uses; however, if your shells were bought from a store or have been stashed in a box for a while, they may benefit from cleansing and recharging. To do this, place your shells in a bowl of water mixed with sea salt. Set them aside to soak for a day or overnight. Recharge them by setting the bowl in the sun or under the light of the full moon for several hours.

Love

One of the main symbols for Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, is the seashell you can invoke the power of Aphrodite for love spells using shells by wearing seashell jewellery or hair ornaments to attract a mate. Use a hinged seashell with the two parts still attached as a powerful love talisman to keep two lovers together. Write the initials of the lovers on the inside of the shell, one on each side, then seal it shut with glue.

Prosperity

Many cultures used shells as a form of currency. Cowrie shells were used in Africa and North America, and Native Americans used wampum, beads made from clam shells as money. Because of this, shells are also suitable for money spells. Fill a small green or gold pouch with seashells, a silver coin and mint, which is a money drawing herb. Hang the bag where you do business, and rub it when you desire prosperity. Place a small seashell in your wallet or purse to continually keep money coming to it.

Protection

Protection is a shell’s primary purpose in nature, as it is made to keep small, defenceless sea creatures safe from harm, again because of this, shells have strong protective energies. Many cultures in coastal areas use shells in folk magic to protect the home by placing strings of shells over windows and doors. Necklaces of strung shells can be worn by children to keep them close to home and safe from harm. Some believe by placing a small, round shell on the collars of your pets will keep them safe should they wander from home.

Tiger’s Eye – I have found some interesting facts and uses for this wonderful crystal.

38755339_10156468277966772_1344167782593331200_n

Tiger’s Eye is a most ancient talisman, mysterious and powerful, revered and feared – an “all-seeing all-knowing eye,” thought to grant a wearer the ability to observe everything, even through closed doors. It was chosen by the Egyptians for the eyes in their deity statues to express divine vision, and was believed to provide the protection of the sun and earth combined, of Ra, the sun god and Geb, god of the growing land. Linked to the magical tiger, the king of beasts in Eastern mythology, Tiger’s Eye portrayed courage, integrity and right use of power. Roman soldiers carried it to deflect weapons and to be brave in battle. It has been highly regarded throughout history as a stone of prosperity and good fortune, protecting one’s resources and reflecting back malice or threats from others

One of the most effective of the eye formation stones, Tiger’s Eye is ever vigilant, bringing sharpness to one’s inner vision and better understanding of the cause and effect of each situation. It encourages one to use their powers wisely, and allows scattered information to be brought together to a cohesive whole. Tiger’s Eye supports necessary change in all aspects of one’s life, strengthening the will and clarity of intention in order to manifest at the highest level. It inspires creativity and utilizing one’s talents and abilities, and is superb for stimulating wealth and the good judgement needed to maintain it.

Keep Tiger’s Eye as a stone of luck and good fortune to attract a steady flow of money to the home. It is ideal for entrepreneurs and those setting out in business for the first time; also for those building up skills and a knowledge base for major career changes in the future.

Tiger’s Eye warns against complacency and emboldens one to “step out of the box” in order to grow and challenge one’s artistic and creative talents, physical abilities and trying something new. Use as a support stone for determination and to overcome fear during exams, competitions, public performances, selling one’s creations in the market place, or presenting ideas in important meetings.

Wear or carry Tiger’s Eye for increasing insight and perception in unfamiliar places or circumstances, and for protection from the negative intentions of others. Tiger’s Eye sharpens the senses, helping one pay attention to details and prepare for positive action. It reflects an overview of situations and assists when things are happening too fast. It is one of the best aids for resolving a crisis, and provides perfect support when one is afraid of making a wrong decision. Use for quick thinking, sizing up someone’s character, and for realizing the consequences of one’s own actions.

Draw on Tiger’s Eye to boost will power, emotional stability and energy levels when working through lifestyle changes and health improvement routines. It reduces cravings for the wrong kind of foods and helps decrease the need for binges, excessive cigarettes, prescription drugs or alcohol. It also reduces anxiety caused by feelings of isolation or inadequacy, and helps overcome discouragement to persevere through the long haul.

Tiger’s Eye is a stone of practicality and balance, remarkable for soothing tensions in families and relationships where differences of opinion or expression are causing discord. It promotes harmony between people with diverse viewpoints, religious beliefs or approaches to life to see both sides of an issue and find common ground. It is a marvellous talisman for professional mediators, as well as anyone going through difficult negotiations.

Tiger’s Eye is a blood fortifier, increasing vitality and strength, and restoring balance to the body on all levels. It is thought to boost the endocrine system, bringing one’s hormones and biochemistry back to level, and placed on the reproductive organs, may stimulate fertility and resolve issues arising from past experiences. Tiger’s Eye placed on either side of the head energetically rebalances the brain’s hemispheres, and as this stone holds energy of the sun, may relieve seasonal affective disorder and depression. It is effective for alleviating nightmares, and is reputed to relieve asthma attacks and angina, and help lower blood pressure.

Tiger’s Eye is traditionally used to heal disorders of the eyes and throat, and to improve night vision. It eases issues of the stomach and gall bladder, and dissolves constrictions. It may also be used to strengthen alignment of the spine and stimulate the repair of broken bones.

Tiger’s Eye is a remarkable ally for the mind, balancing emotional extremes and allowing scattered thoughts, feelings and information to come together in a way that makes sense. It brings focus and stability, enabling one to make decisions from a place of reason rather than emotion. Tiger’s Eye is ideal for those who are spaced out and uncommitted to find purpose; for those who find it difficult to remain optimistic, it stimulates hope and confidence for the future.

Tiger’s Eye is highly beneficial for resolving dilemmas and internal battles, especially those caused by jealousy, wilfulness and pride. It teaches integrity and right use of power, bringing an awareness of one’s needs, as opposed to mere “wants,” as well as understanding the needs of others. It is excellent for healing issues of self-criticism and worth, and unblocks creativity so one may recognize one’s talents and abilities, as well as one’s faults that need to be overcome. It is highly supportive for an addictive personality, increasing personal will to affect positive change, and anchors that change into the physical body.

Tiger’s Eye grounds the energy of the Solar Ray into the Earth, stimulating the First through the Third Chakras. It supports physical vitality, practicality, and maintaining balance between extremes.

The root is located at the base of the spine, and controls the energy for kinesthetic feeling and movement. It is the foundation of physical and spiritual energy for the body. When physically out of balance the symptoms manifest themselves as lethargy, low levels of activity, low enthusiasm, and a need for constant stimulation. When spiritual energies are out of balance, one may feel flighty, disconnected from reality or distant. When the Base Chakra is in balance, the physical body regains its strength and stamina, and the spiritual energy is rekindled in the form of security and sense of one’s own power. It often leads to independence and spontaneous leadership.

The sacral chakra located below the naval and above the pubic bone at the front of the pelvis, controls the flow of energy and is the centre of gravity of the body. It is the centre of the Life Force of the body, and controls the flow of information from the body to the mind and from the mind to the body. Gut feelings, intuition, and other “non-linear” communication comes from this chakra. When it is out of balance symptoms manifest themselves as confusion, over dependency on others, repression of feelings, inability to feel joy, fear of sensuality or sex, and frustration. When the Sacral Chakra is in balance one has grace, feels pleasure in life, and experiences the flexibility to “go with the flow” and do so in good spirit.

The solar plexus chakra   is the energy distribution centre and the chakra of relationships. This chakra is located between the ribcage and navel, and controls the immune and digestive systems. When balanced physically, we have strength to fight infections, are free of allergic reactions, and are able to use the nutrients we ingest. When the Solar Plexus is out of balance spiritually, we feel fear – of the disappointment or displeasure of others, or to subordinating our life and pleasures to the will of others. Spiritually, when the solar plexus is in balance we are free to interpret the world through our own thoughts and emotions and not live in fear of violating the dictums of others.

Tiger’s Eye resonates with the frequencies of the Earth and provides a warm, stable energy for prayers and meditation, and stimulating contact with the vibrational realm of Christ consciousness. It engenders peacefulness and beauty, and connects with the spiritual power of the sun as nourishment for the soul. Tiger’s Eye enables the ability to remember dreams and to use dreamtime for spiritual advancement, sparking imagination, intuition, and opening up psychic talents in earthy people through Third Eye activity. It is remarkable for balancing yin and yang energies, stimulating the rise of the kundalini energy, and bringing a joyful enthusiasm for flowing with “the river of humanity” toward the “One.”

The Gold rays of Tiger’s Eye bring success, enthusiasm, happiness, and power. It is traditionally the colour of kings, riches, and the sun. Gold touches a deep part of our minds, conjuring up images of mystical places and adventure. Light Gold crystals provide us with the simple pleasures of life – cheerfulness and contentment. Dark Gold crystals have a deeper, more pronounced sense of devotion and commitment, providing us with a mature enthusiasm and ability to share a lifelong commitment of care and love.

The Brown rays within Tiger’s Eye brings connection with the natural world. It is the colour influence of home, hearth, and nature. It helps us relax, reconnect, and regain our composure. It is a grounding stone, promoting security and stability.

Meditating with Tiger’s Eye initiates a wonderful, high-vibrational state that is well-grounded, peaceful, and highly conducive for encounters with others through remote viewing, out-of-body travel or mind travel. It allows one to move into a state of bliss, experiencing a single point of awareness within an atmosphere of warm compassion and unconditional love. Upon return, it inspires one to take actions led by that consciousness to bring its energy more fully into the physical world.

The Divinatory meaning of Tiger’s Eye: Money-making ventures and new prospects will succeed even better than anticipated if you persist and keep focused when you hit an obstacle.

The Marra Mamba Tiger Eye mined from the Mt. Brockman mine in Australia is a “gazing” stone, used by female shamans to provide powers of the “far-seeing eye,” beneficial in the open country where “seeing” could have an effect on one’s well-being as well as the entire community. This locality stone can also be used to “mirror” oneself in order to understand one’s behaviour, thoughts, and reasoning, or to “read” the energies of others.

Gold Tiger’s Eye is wonderful for connecting with Archangels Jophiel and Sabrael.

Tiger’s Eye may have been known in ancient history as Wolf stone, and possibly as oculus belus, dedicated to the Mesopotamian god Belus. Deemed to be all-seeing, it was regarded as a stone of protection and good luck, used to heal eye diseases and help one see in the dark. In Chinese medicine, it restored yin and yang energies.

Tiger’s Eye was linked with the magical tiger, the king of beasts, in Eastern mythology, and Roman soldiers wore it in battle for bravery and to deflect weapons. To the ancient Egyptians, it offered the protection of the sun and earth combined, of Ra, the sun god, and Geb, god of the growing land. They also placed the glittering stone in the eyes of their god image statues to express divine vision.

A popular good luck stone, Tiger’s Eye/Cat’s Eye was used to ward off the evil eye, and to reflect back any malice or threats without absorbing any negative energy. It was used a great deal in voodoo rituals. Holding a Tiger’s Eye was also used to discern if someone else was reliable or not. Traditionally it was believed by the end of the day, any deception would be revealed.

Tiger’s Eye utilizes fire energy the energy of enthusiasm, warmth, brightness, illumination and activity. It is Yang in nature. It is the energy of heat, action, emotion and passion – of ideas, of concepts, and sex. It is traditionally associated with the south area of a home or room, and with the fame and reputation area of your dwelling. Use its energy to give your life the boost it needs to enhance your standing in the community and within your family.

Tiger’s Eye has long been used as an amulet against the evil eye, curses and bad luck, and as a talisman for bringing wealth and good fortune.

Tiger’s Eye is a seeker transformer crystal. Seekers contain a crystal energy structure that aligns the natural energy of the crystal to the natural power of the human mind in finding the way to new horizons and new capabilities. They’re pointers, directors, and compasses; the fresh start crystals. These are talismans of the scientist, the adventurer, the hunter, wanderer, and explorer. They’re also crystals of the student and the researcher.

Transformer crystals enhance efforts to change our situations, prospects, health, outlook or relationships. By transforming ourselves we transform our lives. We learn to dance, speak a new language, grow stronger, or become a better spouse or child. Seeker crystals with the earth power of the Transformer are excellent talismans to aid our efforts to grow, develop new capabilities and change our lives.

Tiger’s Eye is a great zodiac stone for those born under the sign Gemini between May 21 and June 20, when the Earth is approaching summer. The constellation Gemini is known as the Sign of the Inventor and is seen as twins side by side in the sky. It is closely associated with the planet Mercury. Those born under this sign can see both sides of an issue. They’re flexible and can go with the flow, and can be lively and talkative, or restless and nervous depending on their setting. Those born when the Sun is in Gemini are quick thinkers, quick-witted, and quick on their feet.

63737991-720px

Symbolic meanings for the owl are: – Intuition, ability to see what others do not see.

The presence of the owl announces change, capacity to see beyond deceit and masks & Wisdom.

These birds love to sit quiet and still so that they can observe their surroundings. Therefore, this birds’ message to you is that you may need to remove yourself from the noise of life. Become still and silently observe your surroundings.  Moreover, slowing down and becoming stable will allow you to access the wealth of information and Owl meaning that surrounds you. Whenever this bird is present, it will share its ability to see what others may miss. In other words, owl meaning prompts you to open your eyes and truly examine how things are. You will be surprised by what you can suddenly see. As an example, other people’s motives may now become clear to you. External appearances will give way to the truth and meaning hidden beneath.

Alternatively, the Owl symbolism is often thought to come to those who need to let go of some part of their life that is no longer needed. With this in mind, owl symbolism cues you to listen carefully to your inner voice and allow yourself to be guided to recapture the knowledge of your correct path in life. This bird’s senses can pierce through shadows, beyond fear and darkness, through to the other side that promises light, happiness, and knowledge.

Owl Totem, Spirit Animal

Those of you who have Owl Totem as your totem animal will find yourself drawn to the dark and prefer to work during the night hours. For this reason, you have no fear of the occult, darkness or magic and often have the gift of prophecy. Also, your wisdom gives you the power to extract secrets from those around you when you listen to its voice inside of you. As a result, you will hear not what others are saying, but what they are thinking and feeling by detecting the subtleties of voice that others cannot understand.

People are unable to deceive you because you can see into the darkness of others souls. Most people with Owl totem are also clairvoyant because of this ability to observe and empathize. Since it can be terrifying at times, you have to learn to trust your instincts about people.

The owl is associated with witchcraft in a number of European and some American Indian traditions. Witches would often take the owl as an animal spirit guide.

In Greek mythology, the Goddess Athena, goddess of the wisdom and war, was represented as an owl. It is said that the Romans believed that someone would reveal all their secrets during their sleep if an owl feather was placed near their pillow.

My favourite crystals to help heal yourself.

crystals-hand

Crystals have been used throughout all of history as a source of healing power. Ancient cultures all over the world used healing crystals and stones to align, clear and transform their energy, spirit and physical health, here are a few of my favourites.

Clear Quartz is very versatile it’s also known as the master healer and can provide assistance to those in need of any type of healing it is known for pain relief when placed on a painful area.  This crystal strengthens and increases the aura and provides regenerative energies to areas of the body in need of healing.

Smokey Quartz has a strong and deliberate action of eliminating negative energies and grounding higher vibrations into the 3-D physical reality.  For those undergoing radiation for cancer this crystal can help to counteract some of the effects of this therapy due to its own exposure to the Earth’s natural radiation.  It is said to improve healing and relieve some pain and is great in body layouts and grids for this purpose.

There are some stones that can help with cancer, Smokey Quartz and Selenite. While Selenite is known to be a highly spiritual crystal, it is also known for reversing some of the damage done by free radicals in the body.

Selenite has one of the purest vibrations of the mineral kingdom and can assist in assimilating these energies.  When Selenite is placed on an affected area of the body will help to infuse the area with fine light energy, which can be an aid to the healing process bringing insight and access to the higher self a great aid for meditation and spiritual development. Selenite can infuse the human energy field with angelic vibrations preventing negative energies from infiltrating one’s aura.

Specific stones for the lungs include Amber and Rose Quartz.  Amber brings the memory of perfection back to the cells of the lungs, allowing for a greater chance of healing.

Specific crystals for the prostate include Chrysoprase and Obsidian.  Chrysoprase is a strong detoxifier and it pulls in healing universal energies into the Sacral and Heart Chakras and the organs of the lower body.  Obsidian works with the lower chakras to cleanse the area of any negative energies bringing healing energy to the area.

There are a few crystals that can help endocrine function, some of which are Citrine, Golden Topaz, and Yellow Jasper.

Citrine carries the regenerative energies of the Sun, bringing warm healing vibes into one’s personal energy field, it is helpful for those suffering depleted endocrine function and those who are susceptible to environmental influences.  It has powerful healing vibrations for the Sacral and Solar Plexus Chakras, and the relative organs including the pancreas, the thyroid, the thymus, the spleen, the kidneys and the bladder.

Also known as Imperial Topaz, Golden Topaz is spiritually and physically a revitalizing crystal and can act as a catalyst for great healing on multiple levels.  Crystal healers are familiar with Golden Topaz’s regenerative effects on the endocrine glands, the liver and the gallbladder, which make this a great crystal for body layouts.  Golden Topaz also enables one to release any negative patterns that may contribute to the manifestation of disease.

Yellow Jasper is a proficient detoxifying stone that energizes the entire endocrine system.  By focusing its energies on the Solar Plexus Chakra, it can promote the healthy flow of positive vibrations throughout the associated organs including the liver, stomach, and endocrine glands.

Lastly, Rose Quartz known as the stone of love imparts a vibration of empathy and compassion directly into the Heart and Higher Heart Chakras, which brings inner peace and a greater capacity for universal love.  It can be quite helpful to those who find themselves depressed or sad.  The calming and soothing vibes can be felt radiating into the body and its aura.  Rose Quartz makes a great aid for chronic or traumatic depressions or anxieties, and is most helpful when held or carried.

Introduction to Witchcraft

Clear quartz, the witches favourite.

19959040_10155394674531772_3304140744206546932_n

Witches, if you are only going to have one crystal, then this is a must have. Quartz is one of the most versatile of crystals, and it is able to do just about everything you need. It boosts the powers of other crystals, focuses and directs energy, especially quartz points, and can be used for protection balancing, meditation, and dispelling negative energy.

All witches have a wand, although traditionally a wand is associated with wood rather than crystal, a crystal can be equally effective in directing the energy of the caster. Long pieces of quartz can be used to define the circle or simply to direct will when working.

We have to cleanse our crystals and there are many ways to charge them, by using moon water, moon light, even burying in the earth, one of the simplest ways is to leave crystals to charge on a bed or inside a geode of quartz, I do this often to the ones that I wear. Quartz is a charging crystal that rejuvenates your other crystals and leaves them cleansed and charged.

Quartz has protective properties and can be worn close to the body either in the form of jewellery or in a pocket or bra to protect the wearer. It can also be placed around the home for protection to your property.

Quartz can be used in a ritual, it can be worn as jewellery, sewn into ritual robes or even attached to magical tools, it helps channel the energy and is used for protection, to keep negativity out and enhance the safety of the circle and the participants.

For psychic dreams, if you place this crystal beneath your pillow, the quartz can assist you to have dreams of a prophetic nature.

During healing, quartz can be moved over the body this helps to heal any weak patches in the aura and restores energy.  When using quartz to heal remember to cleanse your stones after using as they will pick up any residue of negativity clinging to the aura.

Infused your crystal in water, ideally its best left overnight in the full moon. The water can then be used for cleansing your magic tools, and for home or work clearings and blessings.

Lastly, probably the most widely known use of clear quartz is the crystal ball. A crystal ball is used for divination, some seers see a physical image in the crystal and others use the surface to rest and clear their mind and allow them to either see images in their mind’s eye or to enable knowledge to come forward, this can take a lot of patience and practice as my development circle tribe will tell you.

Moon Child

19731788_10155375740096772_9011545864235912862_n

Knowing which moon phase we are currently in can help us to arrange and run our lives more smoothly. Below is an introduction to the Moon Phases giving an insight into which is the best phase to do things in our day to day lives to help achieve the best result.

The New Moon

The New Moon, can be seen as a symbol of new beginnings, it is a good time to start new work projects and build new relationships, a time for new challenges and new cycles. This is not a time to analyze but to allow things to grow and flourish. Any new starts at this time will grow and develop. Our energy levels are usually high at this time.

The Crescent Moon

The Crescent Moon, can be seen as a time of transition when we become aware that although we are still influenced by the past, it is over and the promise of the future is yet to be revealed. There are things from the past that we may have to lay to rest before moving forwards to fulfil our hopes and dreams. You may find that this is a good time to open up and talk.

First Quarter Moon

The First Quarter Moon, is a time when things are starting to come to a peak you may feel a slight irritation but this is just due to the need to sort things out, as yet you may not know what needs sorting. The Last Quarter Moon, is a time when all aspects of our lives that need balancing are magnified, a time to tie up those loose ends, and a time of conscious action. You  have the ability to choose how to act or react and you are in charge of the outcome of any difficult situations. It is up to us whether we act or not.

Balsamic Moon

The Balsamic Moon, is a time to reap what you have sown. If you have learned those lessons then you are now able to move on. This is a time of karma, this is when the outcome, is out of our hands and we have to accept the decisions we have made previously. This is a good time to let go of the past and get ready to move on.

The Lynx Spirit Animal

th.jpg

Recently I did a shamanic journey to see what would come up for me; I do them every now and again for guidance. I popped on one of my shamanic drumming CD’s and it wasn’t long before I was in the jungle, it was brilliant!

Along my jouney I could hear the sounds, smell the earthy tones and see all the sights around me, while walking along with my one of my guides I noticed a large cat, it turned and looked right at me with large green eyes, I wasn’t sure what type it was, upon returning from my meditation I looked up the types of large cats, it was the Lynx that resonated with me.

I thought it was interesting and that you might like to read the meanings and lessons of having a Lynx as a spirit messenger.

Here are some of the meanings I found while doing some research on the internet.

The lynx spirit animal is known to be a very excellent hunter, and is considered the master seer because of its gift of second sight. The lynx symbolism can teach you so many things that will help you understand the spiritual mysteries of the world, and how you can best apply this knowledge and wisdom to your daily life.

The meaning of the lynx points to your gift of ‘hearing’ other people’s thoughts and seeing into their souls, as well as their intentions and thoughts. You can pick up on vibrational energies and use them to determine your actions and responses.

The lynx symbolism also speaks about instinct and the powers of observation. You can always rely on these things, especially when you are feeling confused or disconnected.

The lynx totem represents your vision and foresight, and your ability to see through lies and deceptions and find the unseen. This helps you develop awareness to the world around you.

The lynx meaning also has something to do with valuing your promises and taking care of people’s confidence in you. When you give someone your word, you must honour it.

You are being encouraged to trust your instincts. You should also awaken your abilities if you want to advance in life.

The lynx meaning will help you determine what’s real and practical from what’s superstitious and imaginary. It will help you become more watchful about the people around you and the events that are unfolding before you.

When the lynx spirit animal comes walking into your life, know that not everything is exactly what it appears to be. You need to use your abilities if you want to see things or people for what they truly are.

Doing so will help you avoid disappointment, hurt, and betrayal. Seeing the truth in matters will guide you to make the best choice that will benefit you today and in the future.

Seeing the lynx spirit animal means that you should stop and smell the roses, for love will soon manifest in your life. You may need to open your eyes first to the deception that some people are playing on you, but once you get this out of the way, you will be able to see all the romantic possibilities clearly.

The lynx meaning will encourage you to understand your life truths, and even reconsider the values that they hold. This is a good time to be more flexible, adventurous, and light-hearted when it comes to love.

Positive Traits of the Lynx Spirit Animal

You have the most fun and creativity when you’re solitary, but you also unleash your playful and less serious side when you’re in the mood. You know how to have fun, and you get things done.

You value your alone time because this allows you to discover truths about yourself and others. Knowing the truth gives you purpose, understanding, and connection.

Having the lynx totem makes you comfortable with who you are. You don’t need anyone’s approval or validation.

You have a very calm and quiet nature. But when you speak, everybody listens.

You are a very patient person. You wait for the perfect timing.

People like to share their secrets with you because they can trust you to keep them. At the same time, they don’t want to be around you because they know you can see through their facades.

Even if you don’t look it, you know how to play and have fun, and you can be very passionate about things. Most of all, you give importance to the people in your life, even if you don’t show it all the time.

You also don’t like to discuss your feelings because you know that you’re quite weak when arguing about them. You don’t like being wrong, being taught a lesson, or losing, and you will just choose to shut up when you’re in an uncomfortable confrontation.

People have a hard time getting you to communicate at command because you will just do so when you feel like it. When you don’t like a person, you will remain completely shut off.

Call on your Lynx Spirit Animal when:

  • You are feeling challenged spiritually or emotionally.
  • Listen to your heart, because there you will find the truth and wisdom that you need. Life will not always make sense, but you can always figure it out by tuning in to what your heart is telling you.
  • You are going through a tough life lesson.
  • There will always be ups and downs, but they don’t last forever. Be strong and do what you can to survive this challenging period!
  • You need to be more focused when it comes to achieving your goals.

Stop talking and start doing. Work quietly and determinedly, and don’t focus on the noise that aims to distract you.

The lynx spirit animal is reminding you that everything that is hidden will be revealed one day. The meaning of the lynx is also asking you to pause before you respond to avoid putting yourself in awkward social situations. Sometimes being silent is the best response.

The lynx symbolism wants you to address insecurities that you have so that you can grow and progress to the next level. If you will not do anything positive about them, you will be stuck with this version of yourself, and you will have a hard time achieving the life that you desire.

If you are in the Essex area and would like to try one of my shamanic mediations classes drop me an email.

The Raven, The Magic & The Journey

5825241747cce5ec9a8aac03982a7854

Through out time, the Raven has carried the medicine of magic. This has been the case in many cultures. We honour the Raven as the bringer of magic, it is sacred, in the medicine ways. Those who fear Raven may do so because they have been dabbling in areas in which they had no knowledge, Shamanic journeying, magical workings or a spell that may have backfired on them. Rather than analysing the dark side of sorcery, one should realize that you will only fear the Raven if you need to learn about your inner fears or your own created demons.

Raven magic is a powerful medicine that can give you the courage to enter the darkness of the unknown or the void, which is the home of all that is not yet in form. Some call it the Great Mystery. The Great Mystery existed before all other things came into being, spirit lives inside the void and the Raven is the messenger of the void.

If a Raven appears in your spread, dream or journey you are about to experience a change in consciousness. This may involve walking a spiritual path or doing something new if you are already learning the ways of spirit. It would be a signal brought to you by the Raven that says, ” You have earned the right to see and experience a little more of life’s magic.”

In Native teachings the colour black means many things, but it does not mean bad or evil. Black can mean the seeking of answers, the void, or spiritual. The blue-black of the Raven contains an iridescence that speaks of the magic of darkness a changeability of shape and form that brings an awakening in the process.

Raven is the guardian of ceremonial magic and in absent healing. In many healing circles, the Raven guides the magic of healing and the change in consciousness that will bring about a new reality and dispel disease or illness, the Raven brings in wellness.

It is the messenger that carries all energy flows of ceremonial magic between the ceremony itself and the intended destination. For instance, if a ceremony is being performed to send energy to a disaster area where people need courage and strength, the Raven would be the courier for that energy flow. The intention could be to allow the people of the devastated area to feel the concern and support of the participants in the ceremony.

If you have chosen a Raven, and then magic is in the air, don’t bother trying to figure it out, you can’t. It is the power of the unknown at work, and something special is about to happen. The deeper mystery, however, is how you will respond to the synchronicity of this alchemical moment. You can recognize it and use it to further enhance your growth, you can accept it as a gift from spirit, try not to limit the power given by trying to explain it away.

It may be time to call upon a Raven as a courier to carry an intention this may be some healing energy, a thought or a message. The Raven is the patron of smoke signals or spirit messages represented by smoke. So if you want to send a message to spirit, in order to contact your ancestors call a Raven or possibly, the ancients may be calling you to give you the answers that you seek.

Remember, this magic came from the void of darkness, and the challenge is to bring it to light and in doing so you will honour the magic within.

Shamanic Meditation Classes

Shamanism for thousands of years has helped with personal intuitive development and divination. It is effective in working to heal the self. Shamanism can support and sustain positive personal growth and enhance your spiritual connection. Journeying is a powerful meditative state. It takes us into a very special level of consciousness that helps us work more deeply with our intuition with spiritual guidance.

Prolonged hypnotic drumming is used to promote relaxation and the experience of a trance like visionary awareness. Through journeying, we can find alternative realms during our visions and dreams through spirit travel we can open the door to an awareness to other worlds. These other worlds are sources of the energy, creativity and passion, finding our way there can be a blessing that brings us wisdom and self-empowerment in a positive, healing way.

Journeying is often done lying down, with our eyes closed, while in meditation we travel to other realms. There are generally three types of journeys that can be undertaken.

Lower World can be a dimension of healing and self- empowerment. Upper World can be a place of wisdom and teaching. In Middle World, where spirit is present and ready to work with us.

Lie down and get comfortable, breathe deeply, close your eyes, allow yourself to be carried by the rhythm of the drum. Focus on a specific intent such as “I want to meet and ask advice of my Spirit Helpers” or “I want to talk with my Guardian Angel” or “I want to work on healing for myself.

We begin by focusing and going to a safe place. Many people choose a beautiful garden or beach, and then look for an entryway into the earth, maybe through a hollow in a tree, you are carried by the sound of the drumming as you let yourself explore this wonderful place, seeking out your Spirit Helpers. The Lower World often has a loving, earthy feel. It is frequently inhabited by Spirit Guides who are deeply connected to Mother Earth, mythical animals and elfin creatures.

When you encounter a being in your traveling, whether its human, animal, angel or spirit , ask it if it is in fact your Spirit Guide, Helper, Teacher or Power Animal. You can ask its name, what wisdom or message it has for you, why is it in your life, what you can or should work on together. Then, let your Journey proceed, doing as your Helper directs. At the end of the journey you hear the callback rhythm of the drum a sound like four insistent rapping on a door, or when you feel you have completed your Journey’s you can tell your Helpers that you wish return to ordinary reality.

Remember to thank them for their assistance, lastly you will hear a series of light, rapid drumbeats, during this rhythm, allow yourself to drift gently back into your body. Reverse the path you took during your spirit travel. There will then be a second series of the four rapping’s on the door. That’s the time to let yourself properly reconnect with your body. Slowly, gently open your eyes. Come back to realty.

These classes will start in June on a Sunday afternoon in Chelmsford town centre, cost £10 if you would like to join us message me you will need to put your name down and payment is up front.
