Gemini Season is here, these 3 Zodiac Signs don’t need to worry!

Gemini.jpg

The Season of Taurus was to chill, now it will be the time for another season, the Gemini season.

On the 21st of May, the sun will move into the territory of Gemini, putting the air sign which is centred on communication.

If we were feeling quite stir-crazy and sleepy after the Taurus season, then the energy of Gemini will be the astrological espresso shot we were waiting for. Although Taurus loves the sensory pleasures it has, Gemini will be about intellectual and mental stimulation.

The Gemini season will be an excellent time for socializing, buying digital devices, and learning new and different skills. Gemini loves seeing things from various perspectives, which means that we have to practice opening our minds.

Although this season will be highly energized, not every Zodiac sign will feel that energy. For some of them, the season of Gemini will be an excellent time to relax, without taking care of the world, which is going to serve as an excellent break from everyday stresses.

These are the three signs the season of Gemini is going to affect the least:

Aries

Although Gemini tends to bring out the gossip in people, Aries has the power to stay away from such things. When the people born under this sign take a small break from the gossip and constant social media chatter, they are going to be permitted to also meditate on their own needs.

They have to do a small cleanse from social media and limit their screen time. They are going to see that disconnecting will be the easiest possible option during the Gemini season such significant realizations about their lives may emerge when they stop focusing energy on other people.

Cancer

The people born under the sign of Cancer don’t have to actually take on the social energy of Gemini during the Gemini season. The sun is going to shine in their quarters very soon, and they will have to reserve their energies for later.

They are unwinding and chilling during May, in order to rest their bones from their big birthday party.

They have to indulge themselves with fun nights, knowing that parties are going to be still there for them, waiting for them when they finally make the decision to get out of their shells and grace this world with their presence.

Libra

For the people born under Libra, life was non-stop, and during the Gemini season, they might feel quite anxious however, they should not worry.

They should enjoy the season’s airy nature and slow themselves down. They are lost in their daydreams, taking breaks from everyday responsibilities, after the difficult world they have done recently.

They have to stay more focused because they know they have something big on their horizon; however, they should be gentle with themselves too. They will be able to make their magic occur without the need for living the whirlwind lifestyle.

Magical Moon Garden

White Flowers.jpg

Many Pagans love to garden, but a lot of people don’t realize you can grow plants and flowers that bloom at night. Cultivating a magical moon garden is a great way to get in touch with nature, and it provides a beautiful and fragrant backdrop for your moonlight rituals in the summer. If you plant these lovelies close to your house, you can open the windows and take advantage of their aromas as you sleep.

Many night-blooming plants are white and give a luminous appearance in the moonlight.

If you plant them in a circle or a crescent shape, when they bloom, you’ll have the moon herself right there “as above, so below.”

NIGHT BLOOMING PLANTS

  • Moonflower: Yes, it should be painfully obvious, but the Moonflower does bloom at night. It releases a slightly lemony scent when it opens up, and during the day the white flowers are tightly shut. Some species of this climbing plant, a cousin of the Morning Glory, can get up to eight feet long*. The flowers, when open, are around 5 – 6″ in diameter.
  • Evening Primrose: This perennial spreads rapidly, and can cover a lot of ground for you. The pale pinkish-white flowers open at dusk and release a sweet aroma.
  • Night Phlox: these pretties open up at dusk, and have a fragrance reminiscent of honey or vanilla.
  • Evening Stock: the tiny purple and pink flowers aren’t very fancy, but they smell divine when they open at night.
  • Angel’s Trumpet: Another vine, this annual spreads like crazy. Its trumpet-shaped, white flowers have a bell-like appearance when open.
  • Night Gladiolus: this plant isn’t nocturnal, but that’s when the creamy yellow flowers smell the strongest — it’s a very spicy scent that’s a glorious addition to any night garden.
  • Moonflowers only bloom at night, and the bloom is wilted by morning. They have a really sweet, heavenly smell.

DAY BLOOMING WHITE AND SILVER PLANTS

  • Dusty Millers
  • Silver Thyme
  • Lamb’s Ears
  • Mugwort
  • Silver Sage
  • White vegetables such as Alba eggplants or Baby Boo or Lumina pumpkins

HERBS AND FLOWERS WITH LUNAR CONNECTIONS

  • Camphor
  • Eucalyptus
  • Gardenia
  • Jasmine
  • Moonwort
  • Sandalwood
  • Willow
  • Water Lily
  • Sleepwort

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR MOON GARDEN PLANTS

When you have plants that have blossomed under the powerful energy of the full moon, the possibilities are just about endless. Harvest the flowers and dry them to use in talismans or charms. Use them to dress a Moon Candle or as part of a purification bath. Include them in incense blends to help enhance your intuition and wisdom.

Beltane

5d7cbacd7704e9ab963b6125dd7ca6b8

Beltane is one of my favourite pagan holidays because it represents fertility, abundance and growth.  Like Samhain, the opposite holiday on the Wheel of the Year, this is also a time when the veil between the realms is thin, and a good time to communicate with the spirit world, especially nature spirits.

A festival of fun and merriment, a time of feasting and Maypole dancing,  as we celebrate the woodland union of The God and Goddess it is a time of rejoicing in the Earth’s fertility.  A beautiful time of year, often some of the sunniest warm days and surrounded by May blossoms, bluebells in the forests the whole world blooming with new life.

Beltane is associated with the Celtic God Bel, also known as Balor or Belenus. He is a God of Light and Fire, and associated with the Sun (akin to the Greek Apollo). Fires were the traditional symbol of Beltane.

Maypole dancing, originally a trunk of a fir tree with side branches removed, but you can use any large branch to tie your ribbons on its great fun. It also represents the ancient phallic symbol of fertility and the God aspect. The cauldron represents the goddess for love romantic and well as self love.

People would jump over the sacred Beltane fire, the young, unmarried men would leap the bonfire and wish for a wife, while young women would leap to ensure fertility.

Beltane fire ritual

Build a fire outside make sure it’s somewhere safe and dance round it with your partner or friends. In ancient times this was done naked after drinking a fair amount of wine. It was probably more fun that way! Anyway, fully clothed is more an expectable way to have a fire ceremony.

Designate a May Queen and King of the Forest to lead the celebrations and dancing. Invite your loved ones and friends to celebrate and together you eat and drink.

Beltane blessing

Beltane is here, and we welcome the time of fertility.
We greet this season of fire, love, and passion
with open arms and loving hearts.
We come together to create life
to honour the Divine union between masculine and feminine
from which all life flows.
As the Earth grows and creates life, we shall grow and create life.
So mote it be.

Beltane celebrations

Gods and Goddesses of Beltane – Green Man, Spring Maiden, May Queen.

Prepare a crown of flowers for the May Queen/Maiden.

Prepare a crown of greenery and a staff with bells, long ribbons and leaves for the Green Man.

Beltane Incense: Mulberry, lilac and frankincense.

Candle Colours: Yellow and White.

Ritual Colours: Green and Yellow.

Decorate your Altar with green and yellow, May blossom and young Oak leaves.

Kindle a bonfire, make and cook your own oatcakes.

Create your own Maypole, crown with a circle of young leaves, fresh May blossom and flowers, decorate with ribbons and bells. Go dance and enjoy

Decorate your altar in vibrant flowers you can use roses and flowers in any rainbow hues, and don’t forget your crystals.

Make your own sacred maypole using found wood, rainbow ribbons, and topped with a quartz point you can also place this on your altar.

If you’re looking to attract a new love, light a purple or green candle on the evening before May 1, and again on May 1 night, while you visualize the relationship coming into your life, asking that it manifest for the highest good of all.

So it is, so it shall be, and so it has always been. As you celebrate this special day, let the colours of nature inspire you to remember that all things bloom again, and a time for lovers to find each other again.

May you find yourself, your spirit, your passion, remember it’s never too late for you to become who you are intended to be.

The Morrigan, the Celtic Goddess of Death and the Black Raven of Death and Rebirth

11063544_1135225753161610_3220175546137757483_n

The Morrígan (“phantom queen”) or Mórrígan (“great queen”), also written as Morrígu or in the plural as Morrígna, and spelt Morríghan or Mór-ríoghain in Modern Irish, is a Goddess from Irish mythology.

The Morrigan’s major form is of an old woman, wrapped in a cape of black raven feathers. Sometimes she takes the form of the death raven announcing death, or the banshee predicting it with shrieks. She is the thunderhead that descends at death, and the soul which is torn from the body rises through it like lightning. Her body becomes the conduit of death, the stormy pathway of the soul.

This is not for all people but it is the way she appears to the Fair Folk. Because she is the pathway, the vast network of reincarnation compressed into a cloudy mirror, she can guide the soul as she chooses. She needs only to change the pathways. Usually she is a subtle mist, but on the battlefield, she is storm clouds and thunder, the hag screaming for the dead, and the black death-horse which gallops through the sky carrying its newly deceased rider.

She is also, in secret, the goddess of incarnation. People do not like to believe that incarnations are guided. They prefer to believe that souls are generated at birth, or that some great god has chosen their fate. That the dark death goddess carries the soul in her black wings to rebirth is a frightening idea. Perhaps if the soul were brought by the stork, it would be more acceptable to the modern imagination

Another role of the Morrigan is associated with the hunting falcon, which is a rare and special role for her. Instead of a raven who guides the soul at birth or death, she becomes that falcon that guides the healer or mage in initiation.

Almost by necessity, given the lack of records left by the Celts, some of information here about the Morrigan is based on intuition.

The reaction of most people to the presence of the Morrigan is fear because her presence is said to bring with it the aura of death. When she is near, the doorway of death is visible. The portal is composed of silver branches creating a doorway against the darkness. Beyond the door lay the worlds of incarnation.

There are many images that she uses. Long ago, she came as an animal – a wolf, a vulture, or jackal. Then she took on the forms of transportation – the death-coach and the death train. She is still the Nightmare who rides away with the soul, the dark angel of death that wrestles the soul out of the body.

The death-coach comes from a time when coaches were owned by wealthy aristocrats. A coach meant nobility, royalty, or superior status. A death-coach sent by a god would be luxurious black velvet and leather, with gold and silver trim. But it also meant that a deity, a superior was sending a messenger. It was how invitations were sent before the postal service and the telephone.

The death summons in whatever symbolic form brings awareness of the temporary nature of life.

The Morrigan’s mythic body is a woman or a bird, but her cosmic form is a cloud with pathways leading from it. People are pulled down these pathways by the force of their desires and sins, and by their striving and seeking after goals. It is as if they are magnetized, and the soul is pulled from one magnet to the next. The death-coach brings the soul to the mountaintop or the cave, and she is the dark cloud it must pierce to arrive at its destination. She also opens the most powerful of the magnetized pathways – the birthing child pulling down a soul into a body and a new incarnation.

As a helper to and teacher of mages, she is the falcon who guides the hunter to his goal. Falcons too have been used as a way to send messages. In all cases, the message that she sends is that another world a waits.

As a teacher, she sometimes presides over initiations. Initiation is the simulation of death, and new life. In the initiatory process, it is the death of the soul rather than the death of the body, but they echo each other. One must experience disintegration before reintegration.

Initiations transform people and are sometimes painful but they bring them to the awareness of deeper layers of vision and intuition.

As Black Goddess of initiation, some choose to enter her cauldron, to gain the wisdom that is there. It is a dangerous path, for there is a chance of destruction, and also a chance of losing the wisdom that is sought. Such was the case in the tales of Talieson and Kerridwen. Though she made the wisdom for one who was dull and needed it, nevertheless one who was clever gained it. Wisdom will not always go where we wish it.

Finding wisdom is hard. Sometimes one must suffer unjustly, and sometimes one must deal with ugliness. But the Black Goddess has wisdom of the pathways of life and death, and from the dark cauldron of human need and desire, and from the process of incarnation itself, comes the bright drop of wisdom.
