Squirrel Spirit Guide

squirrel-spirit-animal.jpg

When the squirrel spirit animal appears to you, this is a sign to take life a little less seriously.

The squirrel symbolism encourages you to inject more fun and laughter, and just enjoy the wonders of your world!

Having the squirrel spirit animal reminds you to be adaptable, and to be ready for any changes that you need to make at the last minute.

The squirrel meaning is about surrendering and letting things happen.

The squirrel spirit animal highlights the importance of communication and showing respect to the people around you through your words, actions, and behaviours.

It encourages you to respect your differences and find a way to work harmoniously together.

Squirrel symbolism also focuses on the changes that are taking place in your life.

These changes are what will force you out of your comfort zone so that you will grow, and these changes can help lighten your load by getting rid of what no longer serves your purpose.

The meaning of the squirrel reminds you to tackle any issues or problems head on instead of ignoring them or pushing them aside.

Be honest about your thoughts and emotions, and don’t bottle them up inside you.

Saving up is another important squirrel symbolism. Be mindful of how much you consume when it comes to your resources and how much you spend when it comes to your finances.

You need to teach yourself to save for the rainy days and to adjust accordingly when money is tight. Work to have a comfortable life so that you don’t have to spend your whole life just trying to make a living.

When the squirrel totem scurries its way to you, it’s a message for you to have fun. Your life is filled with work and commitments, but you deserve some rest and relaxation, too.

The meaning of the squirrel reminds you that life doesn’t have to be so serious all the time. There’s a time for work and hustle, and there’s a time for fun and play.

Rid your life of stressful and toxic clutter, and that applies to both physical and emotional clutter.

Lighten the load as you go on with life because this is important if you want to create a healthy balance of peace and happiness.

Symbolism of The Horse Spirit Animal.

The Horse

Very few animals convey such majesty, power, pride, and nobility of spirit as the horse spirit animal.

With the horse spirit animal, you can see the true essence of freedom in your life, and you can live vicariously through it with each mile it runs and each obstacle it overcomes.

If you have this powerful animal working for you, you will truly experience the energy of a genuinely free spirit.

When you have the horse totem, this most commonly represents power and stamina.

The horse is known for being one of the most hardworking animals on earth, with the ability to carry on even on the roughest roads and the toughest climbs.

The horse meaning signifies overcoming obstacles, and how you should carry yourself in the face of adversity.

The horse spirit animal works hard to remind you to take care of your emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The horse symbolism also speaks about freedom. It possesses an unbridled desire for freedom because of its naturally wild and powerful spirit, and it always wants to break free.

Another horse meaning is journey. The horse is usually seen carrying a rider on its back, embarking on all kinds of journeys.

This signifies the time to set your soul free. It’s time to go on your journey and jump over the hurdles of your life with strength and courage.

The meaning of the horse seeks to remind you that you have the power and the motivation to carry through anything. You are full of vitality, and you have the freedom to do whatever you want!

When the horse spirit animal comes galloping into your life, it carries a very important message.

You need to take stock of your life and see where you have been spending your energies on, and whether you have been giving your personal freedom or power away.

It signals a time to evaluate which aspects of your life allow people to treat you harshly or domineeringly.

You should think about whether you are putting the needs and demands of others before yours.

The horse symbolism in your life is simply telling you that no one can take away your power from you. You will only become powerless and weak if you allow it.

Harness the meaning of the horse in your life to get you out of your stupor you only need to have faith!

Facts About Horse Symbolism.

The horse is going to bring forth a number of different ideas and theories surrounding the symbolism that is associated with this animal.

However, you do need to pay close attention to the animal and the way in which it is viewed in real life as this is something that is seen as being quite majestic and almost regal in its approach.

The same symbolism is then going to be applied to the spirit animal and what it represents.

It represents power and stamina.

Horse symbolism is closely associated with the idea of both power and stamina, and this is directly linked to the way in which the horse can seemingly run for miles before it gets tired.

It has the determination to get to the end point and will push itself to extremes, and this is certainly something that you need to be doing in order to really get anywhere in life.

It is symbolic of getting over obstacles.

A horse is capable of getting over fences in its way, and you can also benefit from linking in with the symbolism associated with this animal.

It is directly linked to the idea of having the faith and confidence that you can get over any obstacle that is placed in your path as you know the rewards when you get to the other side.

You believe that you are going to be able to get over it without any problems and you have the strength and desire to go ahead and achieve this.

It is symbolic of going on a journey.

As the horse was originally used for being able to travel around, it should be no surprise to then discover that it is directly linked to the concept of going on a journey.

However, this is going to be something that you are going to be in control of every step of the way. You are going to effectively have itchy feet and a willingness to see what else is out there.

You should not be afraid of encountering new things as exciting times are ahead, but only if you allow that to be the case.

It seeks to keep your emotions and spiritual self healthy.

Horse symbolism is also closely linked to the idea of keeping your emotions and spirituality in check.

You need to constantly remind yourself of the need to not break your own emotional bonds as that in itself is going to cause some serious damage.

Maintaining this healthy balance will prove to be an advantage for you in life.

Horse symbolism is all about strength and the ability to carry on even when others may have fallen by the wayside or you would have previously felt as if you were struggling with energy levels.

This is showing you that there is a very real need to go ahead and keep carrying on as the rewards of getting over those obstacles are going to be far more important than you could have ever imagined.

Mercury retrograde takes place in Leo & Cancer & a lunar eclipse is happening in Capricorn.

Mercury retrograde

Mercury retrograde is quite common and takes place about 3 or 4 times. It stays for a couple of weeks and during this retrograde, we go through a storm and shadow period.

The shadow period begins when the planet turns direct and ends when it hits the point of the Zodiac on which the retrograde happens.

That’s the time when you feel its effect. After all, Mercury is fast and when it has to slow down, it doesn’t like it. Generally, Mercury retrogrades have two storm periods and then, it goes direct again.

Mercury retrograde takes place in Leo, first. Some drama is going to come your way during this time. Leos love to make mountains out of molehills. Plus, Leos love their fair share of attention, and they would take it somehow.

Leo rules over love, hence, affection and love are something that will be part of your life during this period. But like Leo, you will try to gain control over it.

Since Leo loves to play around, we do not quite know what and who we will fall in love with. Maybe it could be an activity we love to do, maybe we can just go out for a vacation. Leo is creative so, don’t let that creativity die out.

This Mercury retrograde commences on 7th July at 7:14 PM ET and concludes on 31st July at 11:58 PM ET. The shadow period is 23rd June – 15th August. The first storm period is 29th June – 19th July, and the second storm period is 23rd July – 7th August.

The retrograde commences at 4 degrees Leo, so the Leos born between 25th – 30th July will have its most impact. The retrograde concludes at 23 degrees Cancer, so Cancerians born between 13th to 19th July will feel the most impact of this energy.

Mercury also goes into retrograde in Cancer, on 19th July. Cancer is emotional so get ready for a huge emotional ride coming your way. Find support and comfort in your family, and don’t let the outside world influence you too much.

There is a chance that you feel a bit insecure inside. Its fine your emotions are acting out, just don’t lash out at this moment, be a bit flexible and adapt to the situation. Your family will help you out.

While the retrograde is happening, there will be a lunar eclipse as well, happening in Capricorn, on 16th July.

Mercury is going to be opposite it and emotions will be really high during this period so, it is necessary for Capricorn and Cancer to find a balance during this period.

Three aspects will be coming your way when Mercury turns retrograde. There will be a conjunction with Mars in transit on 8th July. It will bring in huge energy which is both reckless and impatient. Plus, the retrograde will make a hard aspect with the transit of Uranus in Taurus. It is an alignment which wants us to be careful and cautious.

On 21st July, Mercury will be making a conjunction with the Sun. It is an inferior one, but you get the chance to concentrate on something new for about six weeks. Mercury retrograde will also conjunct with Venus in Cancer on 24th July, so it may bring up pleasant energy for some, with a chance of accidents too. So, this time, Mercury retograde is going to be a bit crazy, so get prepared!

Magical Moon Garden

White Flowers.jpg

Many Pagans love to garden, but a lot of people don’t realize you can grow plants and flowers that bloom at night. Cultivating a magical moon garden is a great way to get in touch with nature, and it provides a beautiful and fragrant backdrop for your moonlight rituals in the summer. If you plant these lovelies close to your house, you can open the windows and take advantage of their aromas as you sleep.

Many night-blooming plants are white and give a luminous appearance in the moonlight.

If you plant them in a circle or a crescent shape, when they bloom, you’ll have the moon herself right there “as above, so below.”

NIGHT BLOOMING PLANTS

  • Moonflower: Yes, it should be painfully obvious, but the Moonflower does bloom at night. It releases a slightly lemony scent when it opens up, and during the day the white flowers are tightly shut. Some species of this climbing plant, a cousin of the Morning Glory, can get up to eight feet long*. The flowers, when open, are around 5 – 6″ in diameter.
  • Evening Primrose: This perennial spreads rapidly, and can cover a lot of ground for you. The pale pinkish-white flowers open at dusk and release a sweet aroma.
  • Night Phlox: these pretties open up at dusk, and have a fragrance reminiscent of honey or vanilla.
  • Evening Stock: the tiny purple and pink flowers aren’t very fancy, but they smell divine when they open at night.
  • Angel’s Trumpet: Another vine, this annual spreads like crazy. Its trumpet-shaped, white flowers have a bell-like appearance when open.
  • Night Gladiolus: this plant isn’t nocturnal, but that’s when the creamy yellow flowers smell the strongest — it’s a very spicy scent that’s a glorious addition to any night garden.
  • Moonflowers only bloom at night, and the bloom is wilted by morning. They have a really sweet, heavenly smell.

DAY BLOOMING WHITE AND SILVER PLANTS

  • Dusty Millers
  • Silver Thyme
  • Lamb’s Ears
  • Mugwort
  • Silver Sage
  • White vegetables such as Alba eggplants or Baby Boo or Lumina pumpkins

HERBS AND FLOWERS WITH LUNAR CONNECTIONS

  • Camphor
  • Eucalyptus
  • Gardenia
  • Jasmine
  • Moonwort
  • Sandalwood
  • Willow
  • Water Lily
  • Sleepwort

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR MOON GARDEN PLANTS

When you have plants that have blossomed under the powerful energy of the full moon, the possibilities are just about endless. Harvest the flowers and dry them to use in talismans or charms. Use them to dress a Moon Candle or as part of a purification bath. Include them in incense blends to help enhance your intuition and wisdom.

I will be doing my New Moon Readings from tomorrow until the end of the week if you would like to book one message me or click on the book a reading link on the website.

Handfasting

wedding.jpg

You might be wondering what a Handfasting is, it’s the pagan equivalent of a marriage ceremony. This ceremony is not a legally binding in the eyes of the law, it is however a binding contract to the couple on a deeper spiritual level.

The ceremony usually begins with everyone gathering at a selected spot, the area is then cleansed, swept with a broom to get rid of any negativity and turned into a sacred space.

The 4 elements,  Air, Fire, Water and Earth are called in, as well as the God and Goddess. Once this is done then the main ceremony begins.

The couple are led through their declaration of love and vows their hands are held together and bound loosely by a special set of Cords (usually Gold & Silver) however any colour is ok.

The couple then `jump the broom’ which is a symbol of hearth, home and fertility, as well as protection.

This act symbolises leaving the past is behind as they jump over the broom in to the future together.

During the celebrations other couples can get to jump the broom, which is held at knee height by specially designated people.

It is also traditional for the couple to bless the wedding cake & wine, meads, champagne etc, and all the family, friends & guests are invited to come forward and offer their own blessings.

How the rest of the ceremony then proceeds is really up to the couple.

The handfasting ceremony can be intimate and small  with the couple and a few family & friends, or a big festive event just like any other wedding ceremony with lots of people, entertainment and dancing.

The venues can vary from a local park, woodland, forest, a hall, a home garden, by a stream, near a waterfall or on the beach.

As pagans consider nature to be sacred usually they take place in woodlands or some natural setting.

The ceremony is usually an initiated by a High Priestess or someone involved in Wicca or other spiritual practices.

We like family & friends of the couple to help out and get involved with some of the ceremony by doing readings & poems.

It is important that some of the tools for the ceremony, especially the rings, cords and the broom not forgetting an altar which is created and decorated for the event.

The couple may have a wedding theme or dress code for their guests, a colourful dress for bride and suitable attire for the groom.

The venue which can be decorated with ribbons and flowers, the entertainment can be traditional musicians, drummers, violin & harp players, or even Morris Dancers. There are no rules all you need is imagination.

Ostara – Spring Equinox

Ostara

March 20th brings with it new beginnings as we enter the cycle of rebirth, the days will get lighter as spring approaches. It’s a good time to have a spring clean and clear out the clutter not only in your home but in your life.

You can call upon the goddess Eostre she will help you to develop your intuition and move forward and get rid of all the things that no longer serve your highest purpose.

It’s a good time to move away from people that you no longer want in your life, those that you have just been putting up with the ones that drain your energy, you can call this if you like your own re birth!

You can also set up your altar with spring flowers, burn sandalwood oil or incense whatever you prefer, and take time to reflect on what you want to change.

Now is the time to sow the seeds of your new ventures and start planning, write them down and make a conscious effort to spend the time making it happen and then continue with steady progress throughout the rest of the year.

If your setting up your altar you can also use the following,

Incense: Jasmine or Rose
Decorations: Yellow Disk or Wheel, Coloured Egg’s, Hare Decorations, Spring  Flowers.
Candles : Yellow, Light Green, Lemon Yellow & Pale Pink.

Frankincense is good oil to burn during Ostara to welcome spring and to refresh your life, it smells lovely too.
