Do you dream of falling ?

falling-dream

Did you know that dreaming of falling, can be one of the most common and frightening dreams, some of you have probably experienced the feeling of being woken up suddenly after a dream where you were falling.

This feeling has a physiological explanation, as you fall asleep, your blood pressure and heart rate decrease, and this is often the cause of the falling sensation.

Sometimes these dreams have deeper meanings, falling is something that is out of our control it often leads to hurt and distress. If you dream about falling, it can suggest that you are feeling like things in your waking life are slipping from your grasp and that you are losing control of situations that are possibly causing you stress.

To get to the bottom of what it is that is causing your concerns and worries to spill over into your subconscious, it’s important to examine the different areas of your life and find out what it is that is causing you to feel overwhelmed or vulnerable, and find where you feel that unable to control what is happening to you.

Perhaps you’re going through a difficult time at work and are under a lot of pressure, or maybe you’re having trouble at home within a relationship and you are feeling increasing frustrated because things aren’t going the way you want. Maybe you’re having difficulty with finances and are worried about what is going to happen.

Any of these could be causing you to dream about falling. It’s also important to take a look how you are falling in the dream to help figure out exactly what is going on and how you feel about the situation.

If you are falling in your dream as a result of losing your balance or grip, it is a sign that the problem lies internally. You may be feeling unstable and unsure of yourself and your abilities, and lacking in confidence. Have you have recently been through a period of change that you feel like you’re not coping with. You need to find a way to ground and work on yourself and get your confidence back so that you can face the situation or challenges in your life without being afraid of failure.

If in your dream you are holding on tightly to something or somebody to try to stop yourself from falling, that is a sign that you are trying your hardest to control a situation in your waking life. You may be in a difficult situation that you are trying to fix, but are failing to do so because something’s are simply out of your grasp and there is nothing you can do about them.

Sometimes, this dream is a message that you are holding onto something that isn’t meant for you, but that you are scared to let go because you don’t know what will happen when you do. This is often linked to a relationship, people tend to stay in relationships or cling to an ex simply because they are afraid to be alone or worry they’ll never find anybody else.

For others it’s facing a big change such as a move or a new job, and you are clinging on to your old life because you’re scared of what will happen in the future.
Holding on so tightly to the past is causing you stress and pain, and this dream can be a sign that you need to let go. Though it’s scary not knowing what will come next, sometimes taking a leap of faith is whats needed.

If you were pushed in your dream, it is a sign that the feeling of losing control is due to an external issue, such as another person. If you know who pushed you, then examine what they are doing in your waking life to make you feel stressed and out of control.

The person could be your boss or a colleague who is putting pressure on you at work, or perhaps it’s a loved one who you are not getting on to well with.
This dream could be a sign that you feel like you’re being pushed into doing things you don’t want to do. You need to examine how you are made to feel in real life, and what you can do to take back the control or change the status quo.

If you don’t know the person who pushed you, or didn’t see them, it could be that you are pushing yourself too much and are feeling stressed by working too hard. Maybe it’s time to slow down and give yourself a break before you push yourself to breaking point.

Take a step back, give yourself time to breathe and evaluate what you need to do to regain your inner balance and your control, so that you can tackle the problem.

If you feel that you need guidance to help you get the root of a problem that you are currently facing or some insight about what to do next, psychic readings can often help by providing the bigger picture, the possible outcomes and point you in the right direction.

A Spell to Sell Your House.

tumblr_oob338zCjp1vtwzbbo1_500

This is best done on New Moon or the Full Moon.

This is all about removing the obstacles to selling or letting go your house.

First go through and scrub the house from top to bottom and then do a cleansing.

Often we form cords or attachments to our home some of them can be positive and some negative when we can’t sell a house it is often these attachments that stop us moving on with our lives.

The other thing I have noticed is that often we are stopped selling our houses until it’s the right time.

This is an example of divine timing often we have to wait until the home we are meant to have is being sold.

Set your intent by asking the Angels for help for the greatest good.

Light a black candle as you do ask that “all obstacles be removed from selling your house, and any attachments there are be severed”

Light this candle over 3 days try and burn it for at least 2 hours a day

Every time you see the candle reaffirm your intent to sell

You might like to write this request on a piece of paper and burn it each day before you put the candle out.

Thank your angels for helping

The Spell:

Take an image of a loved one and ask for their help

Bury this image outside your front door facing the road, make sure the image is head down

After you have done this light a green candle and say (you can make up your own wording)

“Dear ? please help bring me a sale that’s quick and fair”

Ask for Angels help as well ” please bring me the sale that is best for me”

Repeat the lighting of the candle and prayer for 3 days

You may wish to write the prayer down and burn it each day

As you put the candle out remember to thank your loved one and the other spiritual beings you work with.

Affirmation:

Its time to let go

See the sold sign on your house

Know that the price will be right and the right person will come along at the right time

Herbal tinctures to relieve anxiety, help with pain & improve sleep.

35baff93cc500cc60c9686d9ac8ba651--marinated-olives-foodstyling

Perhaps you have heard the word tincture but are not exactly sure what it is.  A tincture is a very concentrated liquid of an herb that preserves the therapeutic properties of the herb to make it more effective. Tinctures are taken by mouth by the dropper full which usually equals 30 drops.

Tinctures are not difficult to make and are a highly valuable addition to your natural home medicine kit.

History of Herbal Tinctures.

There was a point in history where much, if not all medicine was grown in the garden. Tinctures were common and used for a wide variety of ailments and have their ancient roots in cultures all over the world. However, after the process of alcohol distillation was discovered in Europe, they became widely popular. During the Victorian period, tinctures were readily available at the corner pharmacy and were the preferred method of delivering herbal medicine.

The use of tinctures in alternative health care practices is quite common today all over the world. Also, as more and more people discover the ease with which tinctures can be prepared at home, these are becoming a popular home DIY home remedy.

Basics of Tincture Making.

No matter what type of tincture you are making, the process is relatively the same. Here is a list of the supplies you will need:

  • Clean glass jar, pint size
  • Consumable alcohol such as vodka must be 80 proof – can also use apple cider vinegar
  • Clean spoon
  • Cheesecloth
  • Small glass with a dropper
  • Herbs

Method.

  1. Fill the clean glass jar about ½ full with dried herbs (be sure not to pack the herbs down)
  2. Pour boiling water over the herbs just to get them wet (this will draw out beneficial properties of the herbs).
  3. Fill the remaining part of the jar with alcohol or apple cider vinegar and stir with a clean spoon.
  4. Place the lid on the jar and store the jar in a cool and dry place.
  5. Shake the jar daily for at least three weeks but up to six months.
  6. Strain the liquid through a  clean cheesecloth.
  7. Label your jar, so you know what is in it.
  8. Store the tincture in a clean glass jar in a cool location. If you use apple cider vinegar, store the tincture in the fridge and use within six months.

To take a tincture, it is best to put the drops directly under your tongue and avoid any liquid for fifteen minutes. This will get the herb directly into your bloodstream. You can also dilute a tincture with a little lemon or honey (this also helps to disguise the taste). You can also place a dropperful of a tincture in a cup of boiling water. This will give you an instant cup of herbal tea. Be sure to heat the water first before you add the tincture.

There are also some tinctures that are only recommended for external use. It is important that you pay attention to the best and safest method of application for tinctures.

Types of Tinctures & Their Medicinal Benefits.

Here are a few tinctures that you can make at home and the conditions that they will help.

For Anxiety.

We live in a rush-rush culture where everyone seems to be in a hurry to get somewhere or get something done. This type of environment often creates a state of chronic stress or anxiety. Anxiety can take a toll on both physical and mental health. Here are three effective tinctures that you can make at home to help relieve anxiety and promote calmness.

Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora): If you experience anxiety with restlessness, muscle tension or even jaw clenching, skullcap may be an option for you.

This perennial mint is helpful for people who feel like they can’t relax unless they are walking or moving around, toss and turn in bed and feel like they are ”climbing the walls.” Skullcap is especially effective as a tea or a tincture to reduce muscular tension and restlessness Take 20-40 drops of the tincture a few times a day – especially before retiring.

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata): This herbaceous and woody vine produces a beautiful and intricate flower.  Although used historically as a sleep aid, passionflower is also an effective stress buster. For people who are exhausted all the time and in a constant state of stress, this tincture can help restore balance and energy.

The usual dosage is 20-40 drops for a 145-pound person. Add ten drops at a time if you don’t find some relief after twenty minutes.

Kava kava (Piper methysticum): This ancient herb from the Pacific Islands is well-known for its anti-anxiety properties. It does have a much more hypnotic effect than either passionflower or skullcap. The taste is very interesting and creates a numb like sensation in the mouth.

It should be noted that if you have liver issues you should not use kava kava. That being said, it is a highly effective anti-anxiety when used a few times a week.

To Relieve Pain.

Although there are hundreds of plants that contain inflammation reducing and pain fighting properties, a few really stand out. Many tinctures are just as good or better at easing pain as over-the-counter or even prescription drugs.

Here are two herbs that are particularly effective at fighting pain and reducing inflammation when taken in tincture form.

Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens): This tiny evergreen shrub is also known as teaberry, checkerberry, deerberry and boxberry and is in the heath family and closely related to cranberries, blueberries and huckleberries.  The berries of this plant are edible and the leaves and used in teas, extracts, and cordials. Pure oil of wintergreen is methyl salicylate which has the same anti-inflammatory and anti-fever properties as acetyl salicylate (or aspirin).  Native Americans used this herb for things such as rheumatoid and joint pain, headaches as well as general aches and pain.  Its antiseptic properties are also useful to battle toothaches, muscle pain, sore throats and sore mouths.

Take 6-12 drops of wintergreen tincture in water or juice, under the tongue. Take three times daily as needed and store in a cool, dark place.

Note: People who are sensitive to aspirin should not use wintergreen nor should people who are on blood thinning medication or those who suffer from acid reflux.

Arnica (Arnica Montana) – External Use Only

Arnica is a perennial plant that is found mostly in the mountainous regions of Canada, the northern United States, and Europe. Blooming in July and August, this flower produces a pretty bright yellow flower that resembles a daisy. For hundreds of years, the bloom of this plant has been used in a variety of alternative medicine applications. In Germany, it is very popular and used in over 100 drug preparations.

Some sports creams and rubs contain this flower and it is a popular natural pain killer amongst athletes and yogis. Although it is unclear how this herb is so effective, it clearly works to reduce the pain and inflammation of swelling of minor bruises, strains, and sprains.

Arnica tincture should be used externally only, and you must be very cautious not to get it in your nose, mouth or eyes. If you do, rinse out immediately with cold water.

Dilute arnica well before using on affected area.  Use several times a day to reduce pain and swelling.

To Help Beat Insomnia.

Do you suffer from insomnia? If so, you are not alone. Millions of people suffer from both acute and chronic sleep problems.  If you have problems falling asleep or wake up frequently during the night, you might want to try either of these herbal tinctures.

Sleep Mixture: This tincture is a combination of various herbs that work together to provide a sound night’s sleep.

Ingredients:

  • Two tablespoons dried yarrow flowers
  • Two tablespoons dried catnip
  • Two tablespoons chamomile flowers
  • One tablespoon dried mint leaves
  • One tablespoon dried hops flowers
  • One tablespoon stevia leaf
  • Boiling water
  • 2 cups 80 proof vodka
  • Glass quart jar with lid

Instructions.

  1. Combine all of the herbs in the glass jar.
  2. Pour the boiling water to cover them and mix well.
  3. Fill the rest of the way with vodka.
  4. Cap with an airtight lid and leave in a cool place for at least 2 and up to 8 weeks. Shake daily.
  5. Strain and put into small tincture bottles.

A usual dose is 2-3 dropper full’s for adults and 1 dropper full for kids over two. Add to some juice or water and take an hour before bedtime.

Fruity Sleep Blend: This blend is light and fruity but packs a potent punch.  Note, this tincture uses food grade glycerine instead of vodka or vinegar.

Ingredients:

  • Two tablespoons hibiscus flowers
  • One tablespoon lavender blossoms
  • Three tablespoons catnip
  • Three tablespoons chamomile
  • Two tablespoons passion flower
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup food grade glycerine
  • Pint jar with lid
  • Slow cooker
  • Cheesecloth

Instructions:

  • Add the herbs to the pint size jar
  • Pour boiling water over the herbs to cover them ( push them down slightly with a spoon)
  • Add the glycerine.
  • Put the lid on the jar and place it in a slow cooker ( line the bottom with a dish towel)
  • Pour water in until half of the jar is covered and turn the slow cooker on warm and cover
  • Let the jar sit for about 24 hours
  • Shake the jar a few times during the setting period.
  • Remove the jar and strain liquid using cheesecloth.
  • Put liquid in a tincture jar and store in the fridge.

For adults, mix three dropper full’s in water or juice and drink before bedtime. For toddlers, use half a dropper full and for older kids 1 to 2 dropper full’s.

Caution – As with any herbal therapy, check with a medical professional if you’re unsure about anything before using.

Sea Witches and Water Witches

719651209146c30cd9cb0fde21c0154c

First let’s start by defining what a Sea Witch is and what a Water Witch is.
Sea witches usually define themselves as a witch that works with sea and ocean energies. Their altar may include sand and water from their local beach or beaches they have visited on their travels .They also may choose to perform magic on the beach with their found ocean treasures such as beach glass, shells, driftwood, bones, stones and fossils.

Not all sea witches work with a deity but for those that do they tend to choose sea deities such as Poseidon or Aphrodite, in some cases they may also choose to work with water spirits such as mermaids, oceanids, nereids or the spirit of sea monsters such as the Kraken or Leviathan. These are just a few examples of course; there are thousands of sea and ocean spirits to work with and some choose to work with living sea creatures such as fish or shell fish. There are so many ways to practice sea and ocean magic if you love the sea and the moon and it heavily influences your path and the magic you work then chances are you are a sea witch.

Sea witches focus on Moon lore, the tides, and weather magic, from these elements came the tradition of witches who could raise wind and cause storms, which even 200 years ago could send them to the stake. The Sea Witch does not just use white magic or black magic but gray magic because the person deals with all elements at their disposal when maintaining a balance between light and dark powers. Not many ordinary persons can manage such a feat, which is why most sea witches are solitary, working alone and by themselves.

According to legends witches were believed to be able to control the wind. One method was with the use of three knots tied into a rope, or sometimes into a handkerchief. When the three knots were tied in the proper magical way, the wind was bound up in them. Witches gave, or sometimes sold, these magic knots to sailors to help them experience safe voyages. The release of one knot brought a gentle, south westerly wind, two knots, a strong north wind and three knots, a tempest.

Although some choose to call themselves sea priestess, rather than witch, a sea priestess has a bit of a different calling than a sea witch. Witches are generally concerned with magic, spirit work and divination. While a sea priestess may also engage in these things, they are more concerned with serving a sea or ocean deity. You may find a sea priestess on the shores performing healing rituals, energy work or cleaning the shores.

Originally water witches were folk practitioners who would use a divining rod or rods to find water where one might dig a well or water source. However in modern times, many witches of the Watery nature have found that the term Sea Witch does not apply to them. Perhaps because they are to inland or perhaps because the lakes, rivers and sacred springs sing to their hearts the way the ocean does for sea witches. Water witches may be found working at their home altar with beautiful sacred bowls or jars of water based potions. Others may work at a sacred water site such as a holy well where they work with the water and the spirit of the well to bring about healing. They may also be found cleaning the shores of the local river bed and performing healing rites in a quite spot under the shade of a willow tree.

There is absolutely no reason why a Sea witch can’t work with water from a sacred well or a water witch can’t work on the sea shore. I personally am more of a sea witch I can use and prefer the pull of power and energy of the waves.

Witchy bottles & jars for magic.

il_340x270.1623241575_h3q0

In many traditions of folk magic in Europe and  North America, a spell is sealed inside a jar, bottle or other container. This serves a number of purposes, the first being that it keeps the magic concentrated, and prevents it from escaping before the spell has been completed. The other is that you can take it and put it anywhere you like.

Perhaps the best known type of jar spell is the witches bottle. In early times, the bottle was designed as a way to protect oneself from any negative witchcraft, usually around the time of Samhain, homeowners would create a witch bottle to keep evil spirits from entering the home on Hallows Eve. The witch bottle was usually made of pottery or glass, and included sharp objects such as pins and bent nails. It typically contained urine as well, belonging to the homeowner, as a magical link to the property.

The sort of container you use in a jar spell or bottle spell will partially depend on the intent of your working. For instance, if you’re hoping to do magic for healing and wellness, consider putting your spell ingredients into a medicine bottle, pill container, or apothecary style jar.

A spell done to sweeten someone’s attitude can be done with a jar of honey. In some forms of Hoodoo and folk magic, honey is used to sweeten someone’s feelings towards you. In one traditional spell, honey is poured into a jar or saucer on top of a slip of paper containing the person’s name. A candle is placed in the saucer, and burned until it goes out on its own. Another variation, the candle itself can be covered in honey.

You can also make a banishing spell using a jar of hot sauce, for this process the name of the person you wish to be rid of is written on a slip of paper, and stuffed into the jar of the hottest hot sauce you can find. Shake the bottle every night for seven nights during the waning moon, and on the final day, empty it down the loo and get rid of the bottle, hopefully the person will then “hot-foot it” out of your life.

A money jar spell can be done to bring wealth your way, in some traditions nine pennies are used, all though it may be various coins placed in a jar or bottle. The jar may then be painted green or gold if you wish and then put someplace where it can be seen each day. Eventually, according to tradition, money will start coming in, this one is best done on a full or new moon.

Keep in mind that spell jars can be plain and simple, or you can decorate them to look pretty. The nice thing about a decorative, attractive jar is that you can leave them anywhere you like, and no one will even realise that magic is going on.

Shell Magic

tumblr_p4ggdf60MG1v8d5b1o1_500

Long before new age shops our ancestors turned to nature for their power objects, seashells in particular have a long history of magical uses, as they were associated with the powers of various sea gods and goddesses of different cultures.

Properties

Being born of the ocean, shells are associated with the element of water, they are also associated with the moon, which drives ocean tides. Both the element of water and the moon have strong feminine energies that are receptive in nature, so shells are primarily used in magic to draw things you desire into your life.

Preparation

Shells taken from the ocean don’t need ritual preparation for magical uses; however, if your shells were bought from a store or have been stashed in a box for a while, they may benefit from cleansing and recharging. To do this, place your shells in a bowl of water mixed with sea salt. Set them aside to soak for a day or overnight. Recharge them by setting the bowl in the sun or under the light of the full moon for several hours.

Love

One of the main symbols for Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, is the seashell you can invoke the power of Aphrodite for love spells using shells by wearing seashell jewellery or hair ornaments to attract a mate. Use a hinged seashell with the two parts still attached as a powerful love talisman to keep two lovers together. Write the initials of the lovers on the inside of the shell, one on each side, then seal it shut with glue.

Prosperity

Many cultures used shells as a form of currency. Cowrie shells were used in Africa and North America, and Native Americans used wampum, beads made from clam shells as money. Because of this, shells are also suitable for money spells. Fill a small green or gold pouch with seashells, a silver coin and mint, which is a money drawing herb. Hang the bag where you do business, and rub it when you desire prosperity. Place a small seashell in your wallet or purse to continually keep money coming to it.

Protection

Protection is a shell’s primary purpose in nature, as it is made to keep small, defenceless sea creatures safe from harm, again because of this, shells have strong protective energies. Many cultures in coastal areas use shells in folk magic to protect the home by placing strings of shells over windows and doors. Necklaces of strung shells can be worn by children to keep them close to home and safe from harm. Some believe by placing a small, round shell on the collars of your pets will keep them safe should they wander from home.

Tiger’s Eye – I have found some interesting facts and uses for this wonderful crystal.

38755339_10156468277966772_1344167782593331200_n

Tiger’s Eye is a most ancient talisman, mysterious and powerful, revered and feared – an “all-seeing all-knowing eye,” thought to grant a wearer the ability to observe everything, even through closed doors. It was chosen by the Egyptians for the eyes in their deity statues to express divine vision, and was believed to provide the protection of the sun and earth combined, of Ra, the sun god and Geb, god of the growing land. Linked to the magical tiger, the king of beasts in Eastern mythology, Tiger’s Eye portrayed courage, integrity and right use of power. Roman soldiers carried it to deflect weapons and to be brave in battle. It has been highly regarded throughout history as a stone of prosperity and good fortune, protecting one’s resources and reflecting back malice or threats from others

One of the most effective of the eye formation stones, Tiger’s Eye is ever vigilant, bringing sharpness to one’s inner vision and better understanding of the cause and effect of each situation. It encourages one to use their powers wisely, and allows scattered information to be brought together to a cohesive whole. Tiger’s Eye supports necessary change in all aspects of one’s life, strengthening the will and clarity of intention in order to manifest at the highest level. It inspires creativity and utilizing one’s talents and abilities, and is superb for stimulating wealth and the good judgement needed to maintain it.

Keep Tiger’s Eye as a stone of luck and good fortune to attract a steady flow of money to the home. It is ideal for entrepreneurs and those setting out in business for the first time; also for those building up skills and a knowledge base for major career changes in the future.

Tiger’s Eye warns against complacency and emboldens one to “step out of the box” in order to grow and challenge one’s artistic and creative talents, physical abilities and trying something new. Use as a support stone for determination and to overcome fear during exams, competitions, public performances, selling one’s creations in the market place, or presenting ideas in important meetings.

Wear or carry Tiger’s Eye for increasing insight and perception in unfamiliar places or circumstances, and for protection from the negative intentions of others. Tiger’s Eye sharpens the senses, helping one pay attention to details and prepare for positive action. It reflects an overview of situations and assists when things are happening too fast. It is one of the best aids for resolving a crisis, and provides perfect support when one is afraid of making a wrong decision. Use for quick thinking, sizing up someone’s character, and for realizing the consequences of one’s own actions.

Draw on Tiger’s Eye to boost will power, emotional stability and energy levels when working through lifestyle changes and health improvement routines. It reduces cravings for the wrong kind of foods and helps decrease the need for binges, excessive cigarettes, prescription drugs or alcohol. It also reduces anxiety caused by feelings of isolation or inadequacy, and helps overcome discouragement to persevere through the long haul.

Tiger’s Eye is a stone of practicality and balance, remarkable for soothing tensions in families and relationships where differences of opinion or expression are causing discord. It promotes harmony between people with diverse viewpoints, religious beliefs or approaches to life to see both sides of an issue and find common ground. It is a marvellous talisman for professional mediators, as well as anyone going through difficult negotiations.

Tiger’s Eye is a blood fortifier, increasing vitality and strength, and restoring balance to the body on all levels. It is thought to boost the endocrine system, bringing one’s hormones and biochemistry back to level, and placed on the reproductive organs, may stimulate fertility and resolve issues arising from past experiences. Tiger’s Eye placed on either side of the head energetically rebalances the brain’s hemispheres, and as this stone holds energy of the sun, may relieve seasonal affective disorder and depression. It is effective for alleviating nightmares, and is reputed to relieve asthma attacks and angina, and help lower blood pressure.

Tiger’s Eye is traditionally used to heal disorders of the eyes and throat, and to improve night vision. It eases issues of the stomach and gall bladder, and dissolves constrictions. It may also be used to strengthen alignment of the spine and stimulate the repair of broken bones.

Tiger’s Eye is a remarkable ally for the mind, balancing emotional extremes and allowing scattered thoughts, feelings and information to come together in a way that makes sense. It brings focus and stability, enabling one to make decisions from a place of reason rather than emotion. Tiger’s Eye is ideal for those who are spaced out and uncommitted to find purpose; for those who find it difficult to remain optimistic, it stimulates hope and confidence for the future.

Tiger’s Eye is highly beneficial for resolving dilemmas and internal battles, especially those caused by jealousy, wilfulness and pride. It teaches integrity and right use of power, bringing an awareness of one’s needs, as opposed to mere “wants,” as well as understanding the needs of others. It is excellent for healing issues of self-criticism and worth, and unblocks creativity so one may recognize one’s talents and abilities, as well as one’s faults that need to be overcome. It is highly supportive for an addictive personality, increasing personal will to affect positive change, and anchors that change into the physical body.

Tiger’s Eye grounds the energy of the Solar Ray into the Earth, stimulating the First through the Third Chakras. It supports physical vitality, practicality, and maintaining balance between extremes.

The root is located at the base of the spine, and controls the energy for kinesthetic feeling and movement. It is the foundation of physical and spiritual energy for the body. When physically out of balance the symptoms manifest themselves as lethargy, low levels of activity, low enthusiasm, and a need for constant stimulation. When spiritual energies are out of balance, one may feel flighty, disconnected from reality or distant. When the Base Chakra is in balance, the physical body regains its strength and stamina, and the spiritual energy is rekindled in the form of security and sense of one’s own power. It often leads to independence and spontaneous leadership.

The sacral chakra located below the naval and above the pubic bone at the front of the pelvis, controls the flow of energy and is the centre of gravity of the body. It is the centre of the Life Force of the body, and controls the flow of information from the body to the mind and from the mind to the body. Gut feelings, intuition, and other “non-linear” communication comes from this chakra. When it is out of balance symptoms manifest themselves as confusion, over dependency on others, repression of feelings, inability to feel joy, fear of sensuality or sex, and frustration. When the Sacral Chakra is in balance one has grace, feels pleasure in life, and experiences the flexibility to “go with the flow” and do so in good spirit.

The solar plexus chakra   is the energy distribution centre and the chakra of relationships. This chakra is located between the ribcage and navel, and controls the immune and digestive systems. When balanced physically, we have strength to fight infections, are free of allergic reactions, and are able to use the nutrients we ingest. When the Solar Plexus is out of balance spiritually, we feel fear – of the disappointment or displeasure of others, or to subordinating our life and pleasures to the will of others. Spiritually, when the solar plexus is in balance we are free to interpret the world through our own thoughts and emotions and not live in fear of violating the dictums of others.

Wishing Stones

8f4dac5876d8022f92b08b4a2e2945fe.jpg

I love wishing stones if you take your time with them they can be a lot of fun especially  if you just want to throw caution to the wind and wish big. I often find them while walking around outside I then save them for when I feel that I need a little luck.

Over the years, I have found quite a few of them I call them my rainy day wishes.

I’ve had a few rainy days where I turned to my wishing stones, but before I use the wishes I’d been saving I wanted to make sure I used them to their fullest potential. After some thought, I decided on these three methods, and now I want to share these with you.

The common lore on wishing stones is that they can be any size or shape and colour except for a solid white band encircling the entire stone. This band can be of any thickness, but there should only be one and it should be unbroken. That unique white ring makes these stones somewhat rare, but unmistakable. I have always relied on these ones because I have had success with them, so I’m sticking with it.

As soon as I learned about wishing stones, I wanted to collect as many as I could. I have had a lot of practice finding them and that white band became easy to spot and I could find them quickly.

Location is not a problem wishing stones can be found anywhere. If you just want to give the stones a try, you could go searching and probably find one without too much effort.  Or, if you wanted to make a day of it, head somewhere a little off the beaten track and look there.

Half the fun is finding them I try to go to places that feel special to me. It’s not entirely necessary, but it adds to the experience and makes my stones seem a little more precious. This can be a solitary activity or you can go with a friend.

So, once you’ve collected your stones, how do you use them?

The Shared Wish

The shared wish is meant to “double” the power of the wish by using two people’s intentions rather than one. Intention, as always, is so important when performing any kind of magic even when using simple wishing stones. Small to medium stones work best.

Before beginning, go over the instructions with your partner so both of you are on the same page during the process. It’s important that both people are wishing for the same thing in the same way.

Hold hands with your partner and place the wishing stone between your palms, then firmly clasp hands. With your eyes closed and hands together, both of you need to focus deeply on the wish, thinking in present tense terms as though your shared wish is already happening. For example, “our trip is safe” or “we are healthy.” If needed, say the wish aloud.

Now, visualize the wish occurring in your mind. Imagine what it looks like to have your wish happen, imagine what it feels like. Try and feel only the stone in your hand and focus only on that and imagine the wish flowing from your palm into the stone and swirling around inside it like smoke.

Open your eyes. If one of you is still concentrating, don’t interrupt them. Once their eyes open, you can release hands. Your wishing stone is now charged with your intentions! Times two!

Because this is a shared wish, neither of you needs to carry the wishing stone around, the stone should be placed on a high point, preferably outside like a window ledge where it can be exposed to the elements and release the wish as it likes. Once your wish has been granted, you should thank the stone and then return it back to a natural environment.

The Moon Wish

This spell is designed for larger wishing stones that can’t be carried around with you.

On the first day of the moon, prior to making your wish, dig a hole big enough for your wishing stone on the east side of your home. Make sure it’s deep enough for the stone to be completely covered with no chance of exposure. At midnight on the first official day of the moon, close your wishing stone in your hands and make your wish. Meditate on your wish for as long as you feel necessary and at least long enough to warm the stone in your hands . This process may take a while depending on the size of your stone, but that’s beneficial to you because the more time you spend focusing on your wish’s intentions, the better.

Once the stone is warm, go outside and bury it in the hole you dug earlier. Pack the earth tightly so the stone will be undisturbed, and mark the spot so you can find it easily.

On the third day after the moon unearth the stone and bring it inside. Make a warm salt water bath and wash the stone so it is as clean as when you found it then take the stone back to nature and thank it for its work. If possible, take the stone east, toward the sunrise and leave it in a place where the sunlight touches it.

Quick Wish

This is supposed to be fast and fun for less specific wishes as it requires a lot less concentration. This is for “good-intention” wishes, like wishing for health and happiness, or something you are waiting to happen.

Hold you’re wishing stone tightly in your left hand, warming it slightly. Then close your eyes, and as you say your wish aloud, turn the stone over in your hand three times to charge it with your wish. When finished, hold the stone with your right hand and throw it eastward as far as you can. Because of the nature of these wishes, you don’t need to keep the stone with you. Instead, when you throw the stone, imagine yourself throwing your good intentions into the universe and hoping they come true.

You can also buy wishing stones online if you’re not having any luck finding them where you live, wishing stones are meant to be used once and then discarded so someone else can find it. Back to the single white band, one band, one wish. So, don’t try to reuse the stones if you want more wishes, just find more wishing stones!

After all the work finding the stone, some may not be so ready to part with it once the wish has been granted. This is up to you, but I think you’ll have a better chance of having your wish come true if you throw the stone.

Unlike your quartz and amethyst and the loyal stones you may carry with you or place on your altar, wishing stones don’t belong to you. Think of them as little spirits who come into your life temporarily to help, who you then release so they can help someone else.

My favourite crystals to help heal yourself.

crystals-hand

Crystals have been used throughout all of history as a source of healing power. Ancient cultures all over the world used healing crystals and stones to align, clear and transform their energy, spirit and physical health, here are a few of my favourites.

Clear Quartz is very versatile it’s also known as the master healer and can provide assistance to those in need of any type of healing it is known for pain relief when placed on a painful area.  This crystal strengthens and increases the aura and provides regenerative energies to areas of the body in need of healing.

Smokey Quartz has a strong and deliberate action of eliminating negative energies and grounding higher vibrations into the 3-D physical reality.  For those undergoing radiation for cancer this crystal can help to counteract some of the effects of this therapy due to its own exposure to the Earth’s natural radiation.  It is said to improve healing and relieve some pain and is great in body layouts and grids for this purpose.

There are some stones that can help with cancer, Smokey Quartz and Selenite. While Selenite is known to be a highly spiritual crystal, it is also known for reversing some of the damage done by free radicals in the body.

Selenite has one of the purest vibrations of the mineral kingdom and can assist in assimilating these energies.  When Selenite is placed on an affected area of the body will help to infuse the area with fine light energy, which can be an aid to the healing process bringing insight and access to the higher self a great aid for meditation and spiritual development. Selenite can infuse the human energy field with angelic vibrations preventing negative energies from infiltrating one’s aura.

Specific stones for the lungs include Amber and Rose Quartz.  Amber brings the memory of perfection back to the cells of the lungs, allowing for a greater chance of healing.

Specific crystals for the prostate include Chrysoprase and Obsidian.  Chrysoprase is a strong detoxifier and it pulls in healing universal energies into the Sacral and Heart Chakras and the organs of the lower body.  Obsidian works with the lower chakras to cleanse the area of any negative energies bringing healing energy to the area.

There are a few crystals that can help endocrine function, some of which are Citrine, Golden Topaz, and Yellow Jasper.

Citrine carries the regenerative energies of the Sun, bringing warm healing vibes into one’s personal energy field, it is helpful for those suffering depleted endocrine function and those who are susceptible to environmental influences.  It has powerful healing vibrations for the Sacral and Solar Plexus Chakras, and the relative organs including the pancreas, the thyroid, the thymus, the spleen, the kidneys and the bladder.

Also known as Imperial Topaz, Golden Topaz is spiritually and physically a revitalizing crystal and can act as a catalyst for great healing on multiple levels.  Crystal healers are familiar with Golden Topaz’s regenerative effects on the endocrine glands, the liver and the gallbladder, which make this a great crystal for body layouts.  Golden Topaz also enables one to release any negative patterns that may contribute to the manifestation of disease.

Yellow Jasper is a proficient detoxifying stone that energizes the entire endocrine system.  By focusing its energies on the Solar Plexus Chakra, it can promote the healthy flow of positive vibrations throughout the associated organs including the liver, stomach, and endocrine glands.

Lastly, Rose Quartz known as the stone of love imparts a vibration of empathy and compassion directly into the Heart and Higher Heart Chakras, which brings inner peace and a greater capacity for universal love.  It can be quite helpful to those who find themselves depressed or sad.  The calming and soothing vibes can be felt radiating into the body and its aura.  Rose Quartz makes a great aid for chronic or traumatic depressions or anxieties, and is most helpful when held or carried.
